What to Buy??

So I have $250 dollars credit at a local store that I would like to spend on production.

Any good suggestions? Something that would actually be useful for this small amount of $$$. I already have a midi keyboard and many good plug-ins...

You might want to be a little more specif on what you are looking for.
this question is far too general to get a good answer

Absolutely. I would go so far as to say the answer to your question is NOTHING, if you need nothing.

Tell us what you've been using, and your thoughts on your setup.
Or if all else fails, perhaps a good sample pack?

Isn't that $360 to $400?

paying the difference wouldn't hurt much, and well worth it.

What kind of sound card and speakers do you have? Maybe go for an acoustic treatment kit for your room, if it's already treated then treat it even more. Another good suggestion would be to get a second LCD if you don't already have two.

have you already got a good couple of studio monitors ???

This I may consider. I already have really good monitors a good midi controller...

I was also considering a new soundcard. Right now I am using the regular mac soundcard that comes with the new imac. Can I get a decent card for $250 - $300??

Your only option with iMac is USB/FW. In your price range, NI Kontrol 1 and Mackie Satellite are the only ones that come to my mind.
