"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?"

humans have free will which counters any notion of an interventionist god. if god prevented evil it would destroy our human sense of meaning and our value of existence.

evil comes from man, God gave us free will which is the cause and cure of evil on earth. (if you believe in that sort of thing )

the argument from evil that you seem to be quoting ACTUALLY goes
1.god is all powerful
2.god is loving
3.evil exists
.. how can these 3 things be true? but yeah as i said above, free will is a wonderful thing

good quotes though, this is my favourite
