Sneaker Pimp JBJ - "Your Mirror" [ambient] [11:07, 320 kbps]

Here's an ambient piece I've been putting together over the past few weeks:

JBJ - "Your Mirror" [11:07 -- 25.4 MB] [raceriv.com]

As with my other ambient stuff most of the sounds were made by modifying samples of acoustic instruments. This one is pretty repetitive and takes a while to develop, so if you're not feeling patient you might want to listen to it later. Comments and suggestions welcome.

[Edit: thanks for the hosting, Joss.]

Once I got the track downloaded, for what seemed to be a thirty minute ordeal between my computer and your file-host, begging me to upgrade to a paid account, I found myself thankful and relieved from the stress of said ordeal.

Very well thought out and very, very pretty.

Nice work!

(I'll recommend MediaFire, btw. They're a PITA, but they'll host decent sized files.

Thanks! Sorry about the difficulties with the file host. I'll try to upload another copy to MediaFire to avoid others having the same problems...

Thanks. I tried MediaFire but it kept cutting off in the middle of the upload.

I still think arpeggio lines would suit your tracks , and filtering them in and out accordingly.

At some points personally , i was ready for it to arpeg in.

but maybe its personal taste.

Maybe I'll try making a couple ambient pieces with arpeggio lines.

That would be great.

For anyone who might be interested, I've put up most of my ambient and noise works for free download on a site:

http://jbj.raceriv.com/index.html [thanks to Joss for the hosting]

Some of you have probably heard all of those already, but for those who haven't, you might like them if you enjoyed this latest piece.

Finally got a chance to listen.

Damn. That was wonderful.

I like the panning. I need to use more panning!

I also need to actually work on stuff.

But yea, good shit!

Thanks.

I was thinking the same thing, for some reason I had a feeling like it needed to bust into some M83 style noisey guitar stuttering sample madness in the middle.

Thanks. I'll see about getting some parts together for a remix pack, although it would probably consist of just the separate audio tracks. Much of the sounds I use in my productions are things that I've put through several different transformations over months or years, and in a lot of cases I no longer have the original MIDI files, samples, or synth patches that I used to make the initial sounds, because until recently I wasn't that good about organizing my folders.

By the way, jupiterone just made an excellent ambient / film music set and included my track:

Yea I know how that is, I've lost countless projects, some of which I really wanted to go back to and work on or finish again. I'll just find a bounce I did a long time ago and be like "shit... i wish i had that still!"

This is very good. My only criticism and its a purely subjective one is I was waiting for some percs to come in. Think Ulrich Schnauss tunes, this is what I ws hoping for. Obviously this isnt what you were going for in this track but thats what I would have prefered.

Apart from that, nice tune, no other real criticisms

Yea, Ulrich or like M83's more ambient works. I imagined it being mashed up with M83 - America at one point.
