REVIEW: Cari Lekebusch @ Footwork

We at AFE Society & Platform would like to thank all who made it out last night and kept the dance floor bumpin! We would love to hear your feedback...

I had a great time
I was serious in need of a techno party to give myself a bit of variety. It was really nice being back at Footwork again, and it wasn't overly packed (so the temperature was just right!). I really enjoyed both Numaro and Terrence Kissner's sets to start off the night, they were perfect to get me going! As for Cari Lekebusch, he definitely played exactly the way I wanted to hear. I was LOVING his style, some nice banging tunes in there I wouldn't be able to ID any of them though because I hardcore suck at IDing techno.
We left not long after Cari finished, so I didn't really get to hear Kidd and Gow, but all in all, a very successful night. Sad I had to miss j00f, but I don't regret picking this party Cribby, your dancing action was missed!
Thanks to Platform for another awesome night!

oh, and lol @ that picture of what was leftover right on front of the dj booth once FW cleared out!

Good turnout, great crowd, and an overall perfect night.

Cari Lekebusch: best set I've heard this year. Period.

A big thanks to everyone who came out!!

Missed Numaro

Kissner was boring until the last 10 minutes of his set

Cari was great

Kidd and Gow, easily the highlight of the night....wish their set had been longer...

Great times again @ footwork
Numaro and Kissner did a fantastic job opening. Couldnt stand still !

Cari was pretty good too. Very consistent....maybe too much. I feel his set didnt take you on a journey like Houle did 2 weeks ago.

Nonetheless, it was good stuff

The bass was sick 10 ft away from the both. Footwork has been doing many tweaks of late and it is showing

Agreed that Numaro and Kissner were wicked openers. Those 2 opening complimented each other very well. Numaro's set was well programmed, and I especially enjoyed the last bit of it. A big improvement from his set at TechStyle.

Cari played some absolutely amazing tracks: the kind of stuff you never hear anywhere else. It took him about 30 mins to warm up, but then he just started dropping relentless tracks with thunderous bass. He had me screaming and jumping up and down more than a few times.

I found that his set was a bit up and down, and he lost my interest a few times. I think this is because his set in general was too harsh and he didn't lighten it up a bit with any funk. That could be just because of personal preference though.

The last 45 mins or so of his set though was fucking incredible. Absolutely merciless. I especially loved his last track.

Cari was absolutely hilarious behind the booth. I don't know if anyone was watching him, but he was busting out funny dance moves and generally being a clown. It was very entertaining.

Thanks to Platform for yet another great party. Since I've been back, Platform has impressed me a sufficient amount that I can see myself going to any party they throw in the future if work/school permits.

Once again I miss an event I had every intention of going to see. Bleh. I need to get an agenda...
