Posted by Lebezniatnikov on Feb-28-2009 21:14:

Have you ever been to pub trivia? Anything that sounds funny when read out loud during the score announcements makes for a good name.

Was actually at one of those myself last weekend. Good times.

"Hugh Janus", was one of 'em.

Posted by Frenchie on Feb-28-2009 21:18:

^^ see that's funny.

Whenever I go to the UK I go to at least one of these.

I changed our team name 3 or 4 times throughout the contest, all the names were terrible but the one I liked most was:

"I like to move it move it, I like to move it move it, I like to MOVE IT"

And yes, the barmaid said it out loud every single time without laughing, that bitch.

Haha, along those lines, I've also heard:

"I love Mike Hunt."

It was a female announcer, and she said it once and refused to read it again, lol.

See, that just spoils the fun for everyone involved

"I was touched by my uncle when I was ... " (and the score is then read out).

... that one can go either way to be honest.

Posted by Frenchie on Feb-28-2009 21:37:

Hahaha That's awesome.
I'd be saying it pretty proudly.

I'd go with "And That Was The Second Time I Got Crabs"

Posted by leebates1986 on Feb-28-2009 21:43:

used

'Dead Girl's Don't Say No'

women gave evils as expected but oh well

Posted by Dervish on Feb-28-2009 21:46:

Tend to use: "My arsehole is bleeding and I can still smell the formaldehyde."

Yeah, it really depends on the quiz-master. Unsurprisingly, some of them can get quite lazy and just say the name and number. Can go either way

Another favorite:

"Four sausages and a can of tuna" - you can guess the gender composition of that team.

Superb ... "Clitoris Allsorts".

Pub trivia sounds pretty fun. I will have to try and find some good places for it.

Over the summer we had a group going once a week or so - less often now. It's a good low-key excuse to get drunk, and it's pretty fun.

"Jeremy Beadle doesn't have a small left hand. It's just a huge right hand."

"Who's the coolest guy in the hospital? The Ultrasound guy"

"Inter yer maw"

Expensive? Or just as much as a regular night out?
