Ministry of Angels (feat. yahel) - The biggest musical anti-climax in history!?

Hi

I just wanted to discuss this song and see if someone here can explain to me wtf happens here.

Ministry of Angels (feat. yahel)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQkfSzHSW_g

Ok, so the song starts and it SUCKS. No melody, just some boring strange singing. Just go ahead and fast forward to around 2:40. Here, the melody will change and something great will start happening. It will continue until 4:07, and this is where the biggest musical anti-climax in the history of mankind happens. Just when you thought the melody would explode and the biggest adrenaline rush ever would occur...the song f#cking goes back to beeing normal, boring and sucky. WHY? Can someone please explain to me whyyyy?

It really was a "ministry of angels" from 2:40 to 4:07, but why does it stop?

its definitely intentional.. its to mess with ur mind.

Posted by infiniteJEST on Mar-01-2009 07:21:

That was very, VERY anti-climatic. wow.

Wasn't it! Why the hell would anyone do this? It's just plain evil

i actually like the song a lot more without that cheesy euophoric melody.

huh? Except for the meoldy in the middle, what else is there to like? Just some guy chanting some weird stuff and a simple base line.

it sounds decent enough with those swirly synths before and after the melody. some sounds could be added but im not big on the melody itself

Posted by RebeL9 on Mar-01-2009 09:26:

simple answer: It's because Infected Mushroom and Yahel sucks.

Posted by Darkarbiter on Mar-01-2009 09:27:

Heres me thinking oh its about to get to the part where it supposedly sucks.

and it doesn't. Overall do quite like the bass and overall feeling of the tune, not a 8 or 9/10 tune but still fairly good. In particular it does have a rather nice flow and I actually really liked how that anti climax turned out. Just because it didn't go all drumroll.

It's fairly simplistic but I think it works. Sounds like most of the converting vegetarians stuff.

The first 3 albums by infected mushroom were great, after that they are a bit overrated.

a bit? Don't exaggerate LOL!

Posted by Sykonee on Mar-01-2009 16:33:

You call THAT anti-climatic? Man, that's a fucking epic anthem compared to the anti-climatic nonsense that was filled on Sander van Doorn's album.

Posted by Adam420 on Mar-01-2009 17:22:

I feel so unfulfilled now that I listened to that

I didn't mind I'm the supervisor that much... and converting vegetarians had a few nice tracks on it. Jeenge for example. Although the only track that was really old high quality was cities of the future imo.

Wow, totally agree with this. Prior to 2:40 it was a driving psy track, but then it turned into Armin-like cheesefest. That 'buildup' shouldn't have been there in the first place.

If you want to hear anti-climatic... Body Of Teksha:
at 5:15 it 'breaks down' into a bassline... that is all

Linkin Park - Numb (Heatbeat Bootleg)
at 3:05 also breaks down into a bassline.

The difference is, your track is a psy track and it's ok if it doesn't have a melody or a buildup (in fact, psy just shouldn't have those). Tracks I posted are supposed to be building up because they're 'fast-food trance' - provide the set up and the build up and the breakdown that good DJs usually do in their sets without the use of drumroll trance. If you want dreamy buildups, listen to Armin - you won't find fulfillment in psy.

Get over the supersaws and the huge breakdowns already

I am a super noob when it comes to trance and I am still trying to find some music that I like, that is "magical", "sad" and still full of adenaline trance-like music. I tried and did some searches on Armin on youtube, but only found allot of gay songs with girls singing and stuff, and thats not what I want. What I want is these 3 added together:

DJ Tiesto - Trance Energy (Binary Finary)
I just love the powerful feeling in this song, although I also think it SUCKS from 0:55 to 2:10 because during this time there is no melody, but the rest of the song kicks ass.

Synergy - Hello strings (original mix)
What I like about this song is only the first minute, the rest sucks...but the first minute is really good.

Deepforces - Godlike(Radio Edit)
I normally don't like trance music with chorus, but in this song it sounds cool enough and it's about god and other mystical stuff so its good enough. Anyway, from 0:55 and forward its only good stuff.

Any advices on what kind of trance music I might like?

thanks!

Haha, you shit over Synergy - Hello Strings...

Here are my recommendations for you:

DJ Sammy
ATB
A State Of Trance

Also, scour youtube for the likes of Smith & Pledger, Above & Beyond, Sean Tyas, Orjan Nilsen and whatever related videos there are.

He said he didn't like ASOT vocal stuff. So you recommended ASOT, ATB and DJ Sammy.

since you don't seem to be a big fan of bass and drums I recommend you to download tunes with HUUUUUUUGE epic supersaw breakdowns. Especially tunes from recordlabels such as Anjunabeats and Armada. Just pick any random tune and cut out the 2-3 minute breakdown. When you have cut out several breakdowns from several tunes you can mix them together. Voila! There you have your own mega-ber epic supersaw mix.

Like all tracks played at A.S.O.T. have vocals...
It's a good recommendation to look for new tracks also without vocals. One of the tracks I found by listening A.S.O.T. which still hasn't got vocals:

Andy Blueman - Time To Rest (Daniel Kandi Bangin' Mix)

the track should have been named "How much supersaw can you take?"

Wow... that was appallingly bad. Even by your standards.

He said he found "gay songs". Whatever the fuck that means.

The recommendations are on par with the request.
