Are you allowed to bring cameras into Pacha?

Next week I'll be @ Pacha and was wondering if I could bring a camera with me.

Cameras should be banned from clubs (apart from a professional use of course)

^^ Try telling that to 99% of the female population, LOL.

An observation: there's little that girls love more than taking club pics of themselves and sharing them on Facebook.

Still annoying when you're trying to dance but have to work your way through random group photos every 5 feet.

I had trouble with my camera there once. It's a big old clunky sony digital camera, 7.1MP. They took the battery from it at the door. At first I thought it was some new policy they had made that you couldn't have cameras at all. As the night went on I saw everybody and their uncle with a camera. Nor did I see any signs prohibiting them. I asked to speak with the manager. They finally got me in touch with the manager, who told me they took my battery because my camera was a professional camera. I explained that it wasn't professional, it was just old. He said any camera above 5mp was considered professional. I tried to tell him that there were hundreds of people in his establishment with compact cameras with higher megapixels than mine, and if he were professional he should be able to tell a professional camera.... but no luck. They wouldn't give my battery back until the end of the night.

Since then I've gotten a compact canon camera and haven't had any trouble. But Pacha can kiss my butt :P

a few years back i was trying to gettin into pacha with a disposable, still in the packaging, they took it completely out of the box, out of the sealed plastic and then started pealing off parts of the paper, i guess i was trying to smuggle something in through the camera??? (they forgot to check my wallet lol)

Yes, unless it's a professional camera. If so you will require a photo pass from the promoter.

They have never taken my batteries, but they have taken them out of the camera to look inside the opening.

Every time i go there, Pacha is a pita for one reason or another... whether it's comp list drama or some strange new policy, I agree that Pacha can kiss it.

its all good, ive brought my old camera into pacha, and that got through. they were suspicious, but they realized it was a camera. there should be no reason why you shouldnt be allowed to bring your camera in.

Learn to type mate.

I mean, what ever happened to going to a club, getting totally pissed with your friends, perhaps meeting new friends and dancing your face off? People spend more time taking pics and recording shit quality videos than dancing. People are more concerned with the DJ than the music the DJ is playing. You almost feel apologetic when trying to dance because you'll inevitably be in the way of someone trying to take a pic. And then you have to wait, because his mate has a separate cam and needs to get the same pic too. And these are the same people who are like "OMG THIS IS THE GREATEST NIGHT EVARRRR1111!!!!111111111!! "
Really? Then why were you texting/recording/taking pictures instead of enjoying it? Sounds like you missed out.

I must say that those shit quality YouTube vids provide some help when trying to ID tracks. But at the same time we live in an age where trainspotters are better than ever so their value further diminishes. On that note, I can't help but lol when I read a review of an event and some mug posts the exact tracklist from start to finish. I can't help but wonder if the guy was sitting in the corner the whole night with a notebook.

I know this is a widely unpopular opinion and pretty much nobody will agree with me but I don't care. When I go out, it's to have a good time and enjoy some great music. I'll leave the recordings to the professionals who are there working.

I personally find myself to be very annoying with the camera. I know that I confuse and/or annoy anyone who doesn't know me, because of the ridiculous amount of pictures I take during the events. But, afterwards I look back at the final results and dont regret making a fool of myself. I have to take hundreds of shots per event because I time everything (flashless) with the club lighting. The end result gives me very professional looking pictures without a professional camera.

Pictures are the only memories that can be collected for times that we go out. I look back at a list of events I went to five years ago and I can barley remember the details of any of them. Its almost as if, I was never there. I can look back at the shows I went to over the past couple of years and remember all the great times that I had with my friends because of all the pictures that were taken. For those who like to just to live the moment, listen to the music, say it was good and leave so be it. I prefer to keep my memories & store them for others to see.
