Is this real? What makes Oakendfold willing to do this? Or are they going to have stupid restrictions like when 944 hosts parties at Slide?

as far as i know, there are no restrictions. maybe the time the guest list closes?, which i haven't checked. probably a sponsored event, thats why its free guest list. sign up on that link and check to see what instructions it gives you after..

magazines will usually do stuff like this. BPM (when they were cool) had John Digweed @ the Mayan and that was for FREE. For them it's all good. 944 has got plenty of money to spend.

soon they'll be paying you to see Oakenfold. lol

Be sure to get there super early because I am sure they will allow tons and tons more RSVPs than capacity....to create chaos inside and out. Looks good for the club. ;p

Guessing more like first come first serve. If you aren't there early, you aren't going to get in. I am sure it'll be at capacity and gett here real fast.

Thank you for your RSVP for Monday March 16, 2009 when 944 and Ruby Skye present Paul Oakenfold.

Due to the high volume of RSVPs we have received, we expect the club to hit capacity quickly so please make sure to arrive early. Your name will be on the guest list and entry will be granted on a first come first serve basis. This is a 21 and over event and a valid ID is required.

In order to accommodate those who do not get In, an additional VIP area has been set up next door at Slide - 430 Mason Street, San Francisco where sound from the performance will be piped in and the dance floor will be open to enjoy the experience. This is a 21 and over event and a valid ID is required.

Again, Thank you for the overwhelming response and we look forward to seeing you there.

Doors open at 8PM.

Actually, I got a different email as follows:

* * * * *

Thank you for your RSVP for Monday March 16, 2009 when 944 and Ruby Skye present Paul Oakenfold.

We regret to inform you that due to the high volume of RSVPs, the club is at maximum capacity and we will not be able to accommodate your RSVP. There will be no tickets available at the door.

Again, Thank you for the overwhelming response and we look forward to seeing you next time.

What's up with that? Can anyone help remedy this and get me +1 back on the guestlist? At least Dave's email gives him a shot at going, but the email I received is unreasonable. Thanks all!

My guess is so many peeps RSVPed they just cut it off at a point so absolute chaos wouldn't ensue...

I signed up as soon as I heard about it to be safe.

It was a decent performance. There were glitches at the beginning, but it was no big deal. There were some familiar tunes, and the mixing was quality. Track selection was pretty good. Paul did look kind of pale.

It was crowded, but was still comfortable. I am not sure if it is the case that not as many people as expected showed up, or Ruby Skye staff just stopped letting people in after a certain point.

well, i think, not many people showed up. i'm pretty sure that ruby staffs were letting people in. and, around 12 or 12.30, even walk-ins were welcome. peolpe who didn't r.s.v.p, were getting in just by showing their IDs.
Paul Oakenfold played for about an hour and a half.
did ruby skye increased their liquor price? or was it just last night?
i think heineken used to be sold at $5, right? last night, they were selling it for $7.

Might've raised bar prices to make up for no door sales?
