question re: politics of edm music scene

so there is this song that is all over the radio and they are playing the shit out of it.

it's Kid Cudi "Day n Nite" but it's the crookers remix which is COMPLETELY different than the original (my favorite) and they just always announce the song as "kid cudi-day n nite" without even mentioning the crookers. how is that?

Posted by itsamemario on Mar-03-2009 23:18:

radio people are fucking morons thats why

Posted by Damerchi on Mar-03-2009 23:19:

that's pretty crooked if you ask me

Posted by Frenchie on Mar-03-2009 23:20:

Uh, it's not the radio peoples 'fault' they're reading off a piece of paper or a monitor so it's who ever the programmer is who should be 'blamed'. Plus they usually get told what to say and how to say it so if you have a problem with the way shit gets announced don't blame the voice inside your speakers.

Wait what? No.
That wasn't to you, but to alfi lolol
I took radio broadcasting so i needed to clarify his dumbness.

It's because that song is utter crap, and after finishing the title they just throw up a little in their mouth so they can't mention the remix as well.

I have no idea what goes on in this other "edm music scene"

no way the original is great. it sounds so nice on a really nice sound system. it's simple, production-wise but it's just really smooth with a great hip hop beat.

lol why am i even trying to convince you, i know this is like talking to a brick wall.

Guru josh project-infinity (klaas remix) quickly became Guru josh project - infinity 2008 , leaving poor mr klaas to walk off with a huge paypacket and not give a fuck about how sold out his remix became.

i know but i still felt like busting your chops lol you're so cute all pissy and ms. attitudy. if i was your boyfriend i would slap you around once in a while though, that's for sure.

Posted by montana on Mar-04-2009 00:04:

it's just lazyness. here it's announced as kid cudi vs. crookers since m.o.s. has the crookers remix on top billing.

but ye, lazyness. eventually longer titles become shorter in common circles.

Posted by Frenchie on Mar-04-2009 00:04:

Let me pass that on that I should be slapped more.

Posted by Slylee on Mar-04-2009 00:04:

to who?

Posted by Frenchie on Mar-04-2009 00:07:

What do you mean to who?

Posted by montana on Mar-04-2009 00:08:

the original is decent, crookers remix is bloghouse and fun for a little while, i love the breaks in the hook but the rest steps on my last nerves, it's so fucking overplayed before it even got released. the blogmafia and it's djs&followers were championing this track hard.

yes. now that's over. lil wayne, stop with the singing. the autotune, the singing and the everything and death to the blatant misuse of autotune.

it was cool when roachford first did it. it was ok when xenomania used the effect on cher, it was immense when bangalter used it. but all other uses have been utter kak.

dont even fucking get me started on lil wayne lol. he's OK in like 2 songs maybe but i would rather listen to nails on a chalkboard than his voice. i've seen him many times in person too as he lives in the same condo building in south beach as my friend and i'd see him at the valet all the time or the pool. fucking midget freak. he looks like a 5ft version of preditor. lol

THE VIDEO KICKS ASSS!! I mean how else are you going to enjoy working the night shift at a shit stand store?

This song kicks ASSSS!!!!! That bassline is wikked around 1:16.

Posted by montana on Mar-04-2009 00:25:

i don't really get the big deal of 'lollipop' or 'a milli'. they are goddamn annoying and represent almost everything i hate with modern hiphop.
