Ziptnf - Color Flux [pure full on]

Hey all, this set is filled with 100% pure full on psytrance, I threw some of my favorite tracks on there. Be sure to stick around till the end, that last track is a beast, you won't be disappointed!
As always, if you took a listen, please leave me your thoughts. Thanks a lot!
Donnie Darko - Speech to Jim Cunningham
Dune - Colored Light
Astrix - Poison
Delirious - Impulse
Bushman - Rhythmic Device
Dizzy Mind vs Nazuk - Fusion
Cosmic Tone vs Noga - White Sensation
Last Men Standing - North Shift
Intersys - Recharge
Growling Machines - Surrender
Domestic ft. Pixel & Techtonic - Big Time
Electro Sun & Bizarre Contact - World Cup
Xerox & Illumination - Ghost in the Machine
Quadra - Chase the Sun
P.S. If anyone could host this for faster downloads, that would be fantastic. zShare sucks, but it's kinda my only option.

Nicely done mate. Liked the twisted intro as per usual.
Wasn't a fan of all the tracks (World Cup mostly), but overall an enjoyable listen. Your mixing also seems to be improving with each set. Favourite track was Big Time; can never get enough of that one.
Keep up the good work.

| Originally posted by ziptnf Thanks for the listen! I originally wanted to put Electro Sun & Visual Contact - Secret Sequence in place of World Cup but that made it on the last mix instead. I personally thought my worst transition was Big Time -> World Cup, just because World Cup is so FREAKING LOUD, even with the gains turned most of the way down and all my other frequencies reduced it still sounded like crap. Did you like that last track? That's my favorite <3 Again, thanks for the comments, I'll keep an eye out for your next set too! |

Listening:
Intro perfect, I love your intros! The first track is awesome, its blasting from the beginning, not a bad thing, and its very melodic on top of that too. And those key changes, nice, nice! I want this track!
Very good start!
Good transition and nice flow with Poison! This is a very nice progression in terms of mixing by your behalf. So far the mix is excellent!
2nd transition is not disturbing but imo you could have made it better or use a different track. This one is a bit lacking the energy pace from the previous two in its initial minutes. Its a nice one but imo not in its place.
A bit lazy next transition but effective. It didnt disturb me. Groovy track, keeps the things going even though they were a bit lowered by the previous track. Decent one.
Was talking to the phone for 2 min so I missed the transition. The track is not bad but I wouldnt classify it as a impressive track. Decent one as well. I am waiting for the big blast in the next minutes!
Next track is a nice one, gets the things pumping again.
33 min, nice breakdown!
The next transition is a bit ropey but not disturbing. So far is nice!
The rest of the mix is good, not any bad moments, the tracks were powerful, they were some dull or cheesy moments (especially the last track is a bit cheesy imo) but apart from that, this is imo your best mix. Keep it up!

I LOOOVE that track and you think it's cheesy? >.< The melodies, yes, a tad cheesy, but did you not pay attention to all the insane stuff Quadra did with the vocal samples on that track? I couldn't possibly do any of that if I tried. I'm also glad I put Ghost in the Machine before that track, maintaining the psychedelic theme.
Thanks for the listen, Mag, I really appreciate it!
Well, it didnt work for me at all. I didnt look at the tracklist before listening ( I always do that) but then I must say Quadra dissapoints me with that track. He usually produces quality tracks but that one is not my taste at all. Still, I must say that I mostly say the things that either I liked very much or disliked. The set overall was a nice listen. Your mixing and sets evolve very very nicely. Looking forwards to the dark set!
Last of my bumps. Man, only 2 replies? Bummer, I thought this was one of my best sets...
Oh ok!
It was a hit and miss mix for me, but then I am a ****** trance lover
Some great tracks, but also some ones I thought were awful, I really hate repeated/sung vocals in psy, they very rarely work.
Mixing on the whole was good, but some of the transitions were a bit abrupt I felt.
Still, there are some class tracks in there, and the progression was good given it was all full-on
I see.
Thanks, I suppose. So I take it you hated Recharge, Surrender, and Chase the Sun, just because they had vocals? I truly appreciate your opinion, I just feel like that's a little harsh on the producers, when you ignore musical content and judge entirely based on vocals.
Sure, I agree, vocals in psy may seem a tad bit out of place, but remember, this stuff is leaning more toward trance rather than psy, so I don't think they're that misplaced.
Trust me, I'm not trying to trash your opinion, or try to say that this mix was the greatest thing ever, because it's not, nor am I trying to be defensive, I just think that the presence of vocals in a track doesn't make it bad, that's all.
Thanks for the post, kr00t0n, seriously. Look out for a special double-mix with uplifting and dark psytrance coming next month! I promise, the vocals will be minimal.

I see your point, I feel like in Recharge, part a) is in effect, but for the last track, part c) is the case.
Again, thanks for all your thoughts, I'm really not trying to be defensive or upset, I was just trying to understand why you didn't like what you didn't like. I always appreciate the listens. Thanks guys!

Step 1: Downloading - complete
Step 2: Remembering to let you know what I think - (nudge me if I forget...)
Right, have listened to most of it now and...
...It's not bad at all, however, I do have one major gripe with your transitions.
You have a tendency to fade the tracks out very quickly. I can understand it if the mix is going awry, but you seem to do it noticeably on just about every transition (although it did happen less towards the end of the mix), even when they're perfectly in time. I think you should try and keep the tracks in the mix together a bit longer, especially when you still have a melody from the exiting track playing, as this is particularly noticeable if you suddenly fade it out.
I must admit, I'm not a fan of the vocals in Recharge either, although I think vocals can work in psy-trance, ones that do are few and far between. Chase The Sun I do quite like, although I adore the Planet Funk original and do tend to avoid remakes of old trance tracks myself. I think it's this remake factor which maybe makes it a little cheesy, not the fact it has a vocal.
Right, it's v.late and I should get to sleep! :P
