New Mix! Where is my Summer? (Part 2 Now Up!)
Hey TA's,
I made a new mix which I want to share with you. Some may have noticed that I put up another mix very recently and are wondering why I am putting another one out (well not really
). But the last mix was more of an experiment with the direction I am looking at taking in the future, but for now I did have this mix in the works and I did want to complete it and post it up.
This is a mix that, to me, is meant to give a little taste of summer. Not to say that it's filled with Balearic riffs or anything like that, rather, this is the kind of music I envision being played at a Sunday outdoor party on a nice sunny day.
We get an event here called Piknic Electronik, which runs through the summer on Sundays in the afternoon. We'll usually get one big name every weekend, alongside local DJs. So basically, this mix is made in anticipation of that event[s], and hopefully is a little preview of the wicked times that are to come.
Like my past mixes, it's mostly techy, with touches of minimal, deep and prog which add a good variety to the flow. It's not a one-dimensional mix, the tracks sound reasonably different from one another which I think is characteristic of the mixes I've prepared up until now. It's one aspect that, to be honest, I've never had an opportunity to receive a comment on, so if you do grab this and listen, I'd really appreciate knowing what you thought about the overall flow considering the different tracks that are used.
Also, since this is not an experimental mix, it's pretty much error-free (in case anybody is worried about poor mixing). But yea, you tell me if this is the case!
Anyway, enough going on about this, here it is.

Looking forward to what you have to say. btw, while I did listen to Groove in full, I plan to write a more detailed review, as mentioned, after an additional listen. But did you notice how you got some comments on that Dark Audio site? I knew people there would dig it. |
lol, I only assumed that these are the most highly regarded mixes on the site but I honesty don't know.
Looks cool.
We've just started autumn over here though, so since summer has finished, I'm not going to bother downloading this.
Just kidding
lol, well let me know how you find it. Hopefully this will put me in your books for a perma-link next time

Really nice set Adam
My only issue was with you dumping the tempo at the end (I always seem to find pitching down a song while it's playing to be annoying, but hey, it was right at the end, so meh).
Good job
PS: Fix the link
It should be:

Missed this, will check.
Really glad you liked it, Stu. Wasn't sure what to expect in terms of reactions but am glad to see they're positive so far. And thanks again for the link!
btw I already did a follow up to this mix. I know I am bombarding you guys but it came out so much better than anything I've ever done before so I' gonna have to post it. Not gonna bother making another thread though, I will simply post it in this one. I had the idea of the drive back home in mind.
Guys here is part 2 of this mix, titled "The Deepest Way Home" (lame I know - but I had the afterparty drive home in mind so I figured...). Anyway, if the track list looks good download it. Also, if you're only entering this thread now and trying to decide which mix to download, please grab this new one. I view it as being an evolution for me and would not mind reading comments.
BTW, this is some deep ass shit. Even I didn't realize until I listened to it a couple of times.

BUMP
I'll check it out.
Finally listening right now Adam...comments to come
nice mix :-)
OK Adam, I finally listened to both parts and I loved both of them. Although I liked the second part a bit more. Mixing on both sets was excellent, can't really complain about that with the exception of the transition from 'La Cadance' into 'Rhythm Track' which was mostly due to the fact that the tracks didn't really fit together too well.
It's quite remarkable how similar your tastes are to mine regarding Deep House. I've been buying a lot of tracks in the past couple of months that I end up seeing in your sets. Specially on 'The Deepest Way Home' and your 'Hypnotic, Melodic and Trippy' mix. This style suits you very well.
Greatly appreciate your comments guys!
Can't wait to make my next mix. I promise it will be even better!
some good taste there
