Question QUICK Question about ID Tags on MP3s ??

real quick question....

i was playing a Live set in WINAMP and i clicked "FILE INFO" and where it says ID Tags i "UNCHECKED" BOTH boxs...but then it seemed like it remade the MP3 or overwrote it after i did that...

does that effect the MP3 if i did that?..or does it make no difference if i remove the ID Tags?

thanks

It makes no difference.

the Tags are just a bit of information stored at the end of an MP3 file. Removing/Adding tags does not change the actual song.

I tag davinox propaganda on all of my songs...heheheheh.

Id3 tags are just for the info in the scrolling screen in winamp.

If you have an mp3 FILENAME called believe.mp3, then the lil screen will read "Believe.mp3 (7.04)"

However if you add the full song title to the ID3, the lil screen will be overwrtitten with "The Traveller & In Motion - Believe (Original Mix)" even if the file name is still "believe.mp3"

hope this insight to the purpose of ID3 tags helps! hehe
