Ecler NUO4 4-channel MIDI mixer

Does anybody know if there are any music stores or retailers that sell these out in Ottawa, Montreal or Toronto area? I was hoping to find a used one but I don't think that's happening considering I was not even able to find a retailer that sells one of these out in Ottawa.

I have heard many good reviews about this Mixer and this + Traktor/Ableton is gonna be fun to mess around with...

Any help would be appreciated, even better if somebody wants to get rid of an old one.

moog audio in montreal sells them...

amazing mixer.

i don't have midi experience with it though.

edit: you want a good mixer with midi capabilities? http://montreal.en.craigslist.ca/ele/1057485378.html

if you're just starting out though, maybe you want to look at something that's a bit easier to wrap your head around. if you're just just starting, check out a nice and simple ecler nuo 2 (used), it won't break your bank.

that's one of the main reasons why i enjoy the eq on the eclers so much.

Okay so it looks like the one they are selling doesn't have the midi controller...

And the one that I was using at the party and the one that I wanted to get looks like this.

Calling them right now, I hope it doesn't cost too much more to order the one with midi.

PS: If you guys have any other good ideas for mixer < 1000$ please... Plus it has to have a midi controller and 4 channel would be optimum, go right ahead and enlighten me. Ecler NUO4 just seems to have it all

Damn. The Ecler NUO4 With MIDI was discontinued and replaced with the EVO5.

1.5k+.... Screw that.

I guess I am just going to have to order it from the US or something.

no but seriously, great mixer, just don't like the curve on the EQ... wouldn't buy it, but I don't mind using it.

I will not stick with Ableton, but if I would have, my plan was to wait a few months and get this, no doubt about it.

Okay so I am really just starting, and I gave it a thought and maybe I just want to get something that is my "first" mixer... Eventually I will get something that is considered a good Mixer *DJM800 *

I know you guys are probably gonna flame this shit out of this mixer just because the name is Behringer but I have read many great reviews about this one.

For a price of 350$.... Like come on.....

The Behringer DDM4000 mixer.

People say that Behringer is a fail company... But this is apparently the first mixer that isn't that bad. For the 350$ it is actually good.

Can any of you guys confirm that this mixer isn't absolute total crap?

PS. Can you guys also recommend me a good soundcard for midi, mine is onboard and sucks dick.

i actually heard really good things about that mixer....considering the price range.

You might also want to hang back and think about this a little more lol. At first you were saying you wanted a nuo4 which is a pretty high grade mixer, and now you stepped down to that behringer. When I first started out, I got 2 cdj 800s and a behringer djx700. Now I was aware that it was crap, but thought, hey whatever I'll just get this and upgrade later. Well, turns out, I upgraded like 2 months later and bought myself a new xone32. Now the djx700 is chillin in my basement, and i dunno if i can sell it for more than like 80$, even though it's brand new. So, maybe think about how serious you are about doin this and do you think if you bought some equipment you would catch the dj'ing bug and get hooked??? If you think you'll really love it and really want to go with it, maybe just consider getting half decent equipment to start off with because it will definitely save you money in the long run. If you buy a bunch of mediocre stuff, once you start getting good and really start digging what you're doing, you're gonna want a better setup and you'll have to sell off your mediocre shit at a lesser price.

Now that I have cdj800s, xone32, some ultrasone dj1 headphones and krk rp6's, I think I'm pretty set for the bedroom for some time to come. It's all quality equipment I won't have to replace for some time.... I'm just glad i didn't go all out cheap and buy like some denon cd players and some other shite mixer and monitors that I woulda had to replace. If there's one thing about this hobby lol it's that it's expensive and it doesn't even stop at buying your gear... try and stop yourself from buying more tracks lol not the easiest thing.

peace

I have the Behringer ddm4000, it's very decent but....

You have to focus a little more on your needs. Stop asking what people like (we all like different things), look at the equipment and see in what way it works for YOU.

Behringer ddm4000 is ok, but I would never use the audio output of that mixer. I only play high quality WAV files, and have a good external soundcard if I play from a computer. Best way to make sure your sound is top quality.

Considering this, the behringer is way too big for my use. And some of those knobs can't be assigned midi.

If you don't use the mixer for it's sound, than all mixers with midi options are decent controllers, they just send data, so you just need to look if the interface fits your needs.

If you have a soundcard, then you can look at midi controllers also instead of mixers, that can save you money.

And most of all, DJing is about personnality. It's about passion for music, but also passion for the tools you will use and how you will express yourself. It's about making your own choices, as you will have to do with music selection. Don't let people tell you what's hot, inform yourself, and start making your own calls on what feels right for you.

Thank you for your responses. But I think I am going to go with the DDM4000 for now... With it I can get a pair of some really nice speakers/sub and a soundcard and still have some money left over...

If you're using Ableton you don't need anything. It mixes, EQs, renders and pumps up the crowd for you.

It also has an autograph signing plug-in. So long as you Jesus pose at every 32nd bar you'll be good.

Yea at first I fucked around with Ableton, but I like Tracktor a lot more now that I used it. I like the feel of it a lot more.

Just remember man, seriously lol, if you end up buying this cause you're saving money and you really do catch the bug and become passionate about it, you'll want better gear in the near future and you'll end up losing money. The way I see it with my gear is it's top notch bedroom gear, really good quality stuff, but not over the top. like I don't have a fuckin xone 4D with 1000$ monitors and a beefed ass laptop you know what I mean? Anyway glad to hear you're getting into this shit and maybe we can arrange a party somewhere when you become half decent and we can go b2b lol :P take it easy broooooooo. you goin to funkerman on the 20th??
