Yeah, I know. It's just usually I know if I've heard something before. It would kind of ruin it for me if I released something, and then someone says,"That been done in song X." Now if I've never heard the song before I would be okay, but if I had heard that song before I'd feel stupid.

It sounds like something from an 80 or 90`s movie or something.

It has Nintendo written all over it.

Sounds like the work of Chris Huelsbeck. Or it could be one of the 80s tracks for Gradius (a classic shmup game). Or it could be an rpg-village theme. Or it could be a 98-99 chill-out trance track melody.

Give it up... I'd be in a jam if every melody I wrote had to be passed by the peanut gallery for originality points.

Well, for me personally its only the first bar that sounds familiar to me, the second part doesnt. Anyway, here's what it reminded me of (but probablly no one else! lol)

Thanks for everyone's recommendation. I'm 90% sure that the first bar is from an old Mario game. It may be from Super Mario World or Super Mario 64.

i think melody has been explored quite thoroughly in the last 300 years that anything you think of has already been done. The only thing you can change is the context in which the melody resides.
