24 rant
So.... after months of arguing about which is better out of Prison break and 24, he decides to lend me the sixth series.
I can honestly say that its awful and barely watchable. The plot lines are generic, muslim sets off a nuclear bomb... the scenes are unrealistic, lots of gaps. But the worst for me is the terrible acting, it really is god awful, the characters are bad enough in themselves. That woman who sits at the computer has got to be the most wooden actress I have ever seen, shes so tedious to watch.
Cor version - 24 is shit.
Someone try and justify to me why it is so popular.....
I've watched every season and #6 was the worst. There is almost universal agreement among fans that it was the weakest season..so I don't know why he lent you that one..
If you want good TV, watch seasons 3 and 4. Unbelievably addicting once the plot gets going.
yeah season 6 was considered the worst of the series. this new one is alright, everyone's saying its a return to form but imo its not as good as seasons 1-5. there's still a batch of episodes left though
Yeah... that might make sense, because imo it was really poor.
I'll have to try another season then, any suggestions??
Season 2 will always be my fav. But 3 and 4 are quite good too.

I stopped watching after a few episodes into season 6. Unwatchable garbage. I'm watching this season but its not the same anymore. I often openly laugh at the ridiculous nature of the show. Like Jack Bauer shaking down a baby for information on the terrorists.
When ever I watch it now can't help thinking about the period of fear after 9/11 attacks and how so many innocent people were hurt by the Bush administration and their torture tactics.
even tho this season is lightyears better than the last one, ugh, it doesnt compare to the ones before
24 was the first show of its kind, fuckin believe that.
go bust out s1-4 and you'll know whats up. i agree its gone downhill since then.
im srs though 24 was the 1st show of its kind that spawned everything since then, back in the 2k1 there was no big budget "movie like" tv shows, just garbage sitcoms and shit, troof.
24 is only enjoyable if you're making fun of it. Some people honestly think it's a great show.
I lol'd when chloe and Garofalo had the geek chick computer battle.

Watching this season is hilarious, since it's set where I live... the location dropping is completely nonsensical - anyone who has spent any time here whatsoever knows that you can't get from "stuck in traffic on the Beltway" to "on the Mall" in the course of a commercial break (much less an entire episode of real-time).
Also, the safehouse on "Reagan Ave." literally made me laugh out loud. Like that street is ever going to get through the 100% Democratic city council...

This season is a return to form after a sub-par S6. Sure there's been some unbelievable events (ie: drilling into the White House from the water) but 24 is always about suspending your belief just a little while you enjoy the ride.
S1 is still the best for me because it truly was an original concept back when it premiered.
Last week was great btw.
SPOILER ALERT
RIP Bill.
