producing vs mixing

i just want to get the difference straight...producers are those who actaully make new songs...and mixers are ones who just play the tracks produced by others correct?

That's right.

It's good to have both experiencing for both skills, you can do both too, just as PvD e.g.

Yeah i and many others on the forums both produce material as well as dj on a regular basis. Cant get enough fullfilment sticking with just the one
