How cool is that?? That's the future of gadgets and technology. This new generation of information is becoming so damn intelligent, it's a wonder they haven't turned on us already...

Very very cool. But it all relies upon a thing hanging off your neck and splashing information on the nearest surface around. Dunno about you but I wouldn't like standing in a public place and showing all my pics or what I was searching on the net on the wall.
And of I'm buying something I do what I always do have a look at it. Maybe buying electronics would look into it, but then I'd look on the net not when I'm in the shop.
I say of limited overall use. Effectively a projector and human interface, very much like those projected keyboards.

At this very moment someone is thinking how this could be used in the porn industry.
I guess you could project a slut onto the wall and depending on your 'hand gestures' she could do various things.
I studied visual communication at a high level and my favourite module was digital technology, I was absolultly immersed in it, and loved every lecture and discussion group. It really is fascinating.
The thing is most people don't understand it, or are pessimistic about technology...
Some aspects which I picked up in my thesis.
- Future technologogy exists, but often to expensive to implement on the current market. An example would be placing computer chips on all the products at a supermarket and then once your shopping has been completed, walk out of the store with the computer scanning all your purchased products..
Until the price of the chips come down this technology is not viable.
- Technology concepts exist, but often waiting for new technology to be introduced to become usable. Example Leonardo Da vinci inventing the contact lens during the 1400s only to have to wait for a material to be developed to create the actual product.
- Future technologogy exists but sometimes the market is not ready for it to be implemented.. Example would be reading a book from an ipod.. Or a concept car which just wouldn't fit in.

None the less, it is "one step" programming - it gets far more involved. Eg. this said esp stuff --- just providing baseline information. There are other cell capacities. == the thing is though I don't like the end product, I'm not a totalitarian, so why would I want to speed up the police state? IP laws are another major concern. Even if I make the "new and improved" technology - other people own subcomponents to build it. It is largely a matter of use.. and that is part of it right there.. that is why the big companies have the advantage |
this could be useful to read cdrs without labels. I wonder what it could do for techno and electronic music.
