NCAA March Madness - Bracket Pool 2009

If anyone is interested, e-mail me at [email protected]

My uncle has been running this for about six year, on CBSsportsline.com. Totally interactive online, you can see everyone's brackets, and it is instantly updated after each game.

Entry is $20 - I will need an e-mail money transfer to confirm your entry, and then I will provide a link to register (it takes literally a minute).

Let me know!

haha bring it buddy!

this is the first time for me that i don't have my mind made up on a clear and definitive champion at this stage in the game. selection sunday is tomorrow, and i honestly have about five teams i'm considering.

Tonight is the LAST night to get in on this.....

So far on TA, I believe Shanny, Az (Time2burn), Sly_guy and Superjimbo are IN.

Trust me, best $20 you'll ever spend.

I'm in a pool on yahoo sports with three friends, and Barack Obama (someone recreated his picks.)

Connecticut.

Damn - I saw this 3 hours too late. I am 3 for 3 in my office pool so far

Posted by DigDeep on Mar-19-2009 22:53:

Can anyone say they have a perfect bracket so far?

Posted by Sly_Guy on Mar-20-2009 02:40:

I had Clemson beating Oklahoma....Yikes. Also had Butler and BYU. Just barely got out alive in some other quakers as well. This is gonna be one shakey tourney.

*edit*
wow, I took a beating on the first day. I think this is the worst first round I've ever picked.

Holy fuck those were some good games this afternoon!
Huge scare with Pitt.
Picked up my first real upset with Dayton

It's official, I'm getting my ass kicked.

no way I had this game the way WV has been playing over the last few years.

I had temple winning, but the stupid refs blew so many calls down the stretch.

I'm still taking a beating tho, but a lot of people are....This is a wild tourney.

Going into the tourney, I was completely unimpressed with WVU - they just didn't seem like they had enough to make some noise. Dayton is one of those cinderella teams that always seem to be a pest....

And as a general rule of thumb, you HAVE to pick a 12 over a 5.... I lucked out and took Arizona (who lost 5 of 6 coming into the tourney) to beat a Utah team who I believe was seeded a shitload higher than they should have been...

Fuck I love this shit.

I didn't pick a single 5-12 upset. I know the history. But I saw teams I liked in those matchups, and it's killed me. Fortunately, my misses are all soon to be eliminated, so I can make up ground in the late rounds.

I did get screwed on FSU tho....Com'on, an ACC team, playing everyone tough, beating UNC, Duke, and Wake [when Wake was playing well]. Who picked them to go out early????

This is one of the craziest tourneys in a long time...Gotta love that Siena-Ohio OT thrilla!

I was shocked by that one... but especially by Wake Forest. That was honestly the worst case of shitting the bed I've seen in a LONG time. (not including the Raptors current season).

I think hardly anyone expected Wake to lose...
But NO ONE could've expected them to get completely outplayed as they did..great showing by Cleveland St.

Last night i was really impressed by the Okla St. - Pittsburgh game.
That first half was fuckin BONKERS...both treams were on fuckin FIRE
49-49 at the half and Okla St. shot something like 10-16 from 3-pt range
But you knew that if they played THAT well and were still onyl tied that it'd be tough for them to beat Pitt.

Mich St. just squeezed by getting lucky in the last minute or so on some possibly suspect (non)calls...
But i don't like them against Kansas for some reason.

Louisville as well..was too close, but the last 4-5 mins they showed they can go all the way.

And i have to mention Xavier, who i think really has a chance to pull the upset next round against Pitt.
And it's not because Pitt's shown its vulnerability - which they have.
Xavier simply has the type of game that is great for the tournament :
excellent, TOUGH defense, great rebounding, and unselfish basketball. (sounds like Mich. St.)

Would love to see 'em take down Pitt and presumably Duke (if they get by Villanova)
But I see Duke comin outta this region, regardless of how much i despise them

After a somewhat rough second round, I can now say that I've nailed the entire semi-final lineup except for Arizona (I had Utah in the first round)

Feelin good.

Posted by Sly_Guy on Mar-23-2009 13:50:

my brackets have recovered nicely myself. Still the first 2 rounds puts me in tough to make up some lost ground, but hell, it still feels good to pick the winners of the later rounds.
