Long time Listener...First time poster

hello everyone, i have been listening to trance for the past 10 years or so....this is going to sound sad but the past 2 years i have not downloaded any trance. First of all i cannot describe the type of trance i like (yeah even after all these years) I like some of tiesto's albums. Moogwai Under Platipus label is my all time favorite producer right next to Markus Shultz. I like Melodic/deep/dark sounds...something that u hear the synth building up in the backround Then BAM! it kicks you with it. any new tracks out there (or past 2 years) that i should know about? The help is appreciated.

Listening to trance for 10 years and you're still stuck on the Markus Schulz phase. Wow.

Yes.

"Fuck yourself!" by DJ Fucking Newb. "Use the Search Function" by DJ Stupid Fucking Question. "Oh, Great - Another Tiesto Fan" by the production duo, Fuck Off and Die. [/Typical_TA_New_Person_Greeting_Protocol=Snide]

My theory exactly put in dumb gamer terms.

And incase you're trying to be sarcastic, you can do better than that.

well done,forum-bouncer

On topic,
Trance is far from what it used to be back in the day, so I personally would suggest you divert your attention to more house and techno.

Pro-tip: Deep house = ill (check out kerri chandler's most recent essential mix)

try anything by rank 1 , wippenberg , tydi , duderstadt , cosmic gate , and buy the new Markus Schulz Toronto 09 cd ... you will be good for some time

If you haven't already, you should check out Sander van Doorn (Google him and download some of his live sets). He doesn't have the same melodic sound as Markus Schulz, but he plays really energetic techy trance as well as full out techno, so you'll get exposed to music from several genres

It might not have been a nerve, but it was something.

Ain't that great, that many and it still sounds good. That makes it an ULTRA supersaw track
But it's not just the supersaw which make it great to me, of course.

By now I know it's not your taste and that's fine.
I guess many synth lovers like the supersaw even without anything else like here:

To me it's strange that as far as I know nobody has ever mentioned that synth sound which was THE sound in the late 90's:

DJ Quicksilver - Bellisima

I'm not an expert, I just bought a Korg 05R/W module once...

I guess in 'Time To Rest' it's played faster than in 'Superstring (Rank 1 Remix)' or aren't they the same?

So many parameters you can change and play with.

You know how the sound in Bellisima is called?

The pizzicato sound. That have been mentioned in countless of threads. Championed by Faithless in their mid 90s Insomnia and Salva Mea (which Sash! used for his Encore Un Fois), Three On One - Sin City, DJ Quicksilver and several others in the mid-late 90s.

O yeh, now I remember the name, let's not forget it again.
Thank god no-one defined it as Pizzicato Trance.
Thanks.

I must have liked that sound, because all the examples you mention are part of my cd collection.
