Wow, early night tonight? It's only 2am and you're posting these!

Posted by skell on Mar-22-2009 12:06:

Yeah, I'd be wanting to leave Vanguard early too with that headliner.

Posted by MelBeat on Mar-22-2009 15:25:

It was one of the best nights at Vanguard. I liked Oakenfold's music better than Acosta or Angello (yes, I went to all 3).
I only now saw the email about Calvin Harris not appearing; it had ended up in my junk mail.

when i saw him at Rain last Labor Day for his residency launch, I had pretty low expectations...but Oakie was pretty good that nite - we had a great time...it seems like the recent comments about his sets have been pretty positive....

Pic is misleading and you guys are just assuming. He's just giving her a mint.

It's a MIDI controller, probably for Traktor. He can use that to load up tracks, trigger effects etc without having to use his keyboard/mouse.

Posted by djjoshuaallen on Mar-22-2009 20:35:

i wonder how many ruke prints you will slang of that one drew.

Posted by Rukes on Mar-22-2009 20:35:

Oakie now brings a giant-ass equalizer with him, it was set up under the DJ booth.

That way he can properly hear the music as he wants, and no more problems

...actually there was more girls there last nite than I can ever remember at Vanguard, besides maybe Valetines Day weekend with Roger Sanchez a while back. I was telling my friend, Vanguard is almost pulling hip hop club levels of girl to guy ratio, the pics really dont tell the story. Honestly there was a lot of girls, well at least compared to what Vanguard use to pull. I had fun, Oakenfold was actually pretty good, the crowd was all into it, and half the fun at a club is the atmosphere, so its good to go to these type of nights once in a while. That RHCP remix played early on by Oakenfold, who we were calling Jokenfold (conditioned by TA) on the way there, was nice.

You do realize that hot girls in dresses and heels normally dont get in the cramped crowd on the dancefloor?

Thing is... The whole place looks cramped!

Yup, Drew got a point. Most of the dresses and high heels are in the patio.
