Gui Boratto - Take My Breath Away (new album)

here's a short review on an album I've been hooked on since I heard it...

Gui Boratto's new album came out a few weeks ago...I've been listening on his myspace a lot...and absolutely love it!

It's by no means a "dance" album. This collection has a pretty chilled out over tone with vibes ranging ranging from dark and moody (opus 17) to uplifting (azzura)to a little more organic sounds (besides & godet). I think the track (or element of a track)that hooked me the most was the vocal melody and tone in "No Turning Back". The only track I could see my self playing in a club would probably be "Eggplant".

I'm really enjoying this album. Although the sound would fall more into the realm of "techno", I think anyone who likes any variety of electronic music would enjoy it as much as myself. Perfect for driving or just chilling out relaxing after a hectic day.

I've been a big Gui Boratto fan for a while and will probably for alot longer with material likes this.

check it out in it's entirety on his myspace.

Loved Gui Boratto ever since "Beautiful life"

Take my breath away is an absolutely beautiful track. You beat me to the punch on an album review!

I really dig a lot of it; fantastic sounds and production quality. It's a great cd on its own, and has a few solid tracks that would do well in many a tech house/techno set. I really enjoyed it!

I have been a fan of his for ages, and will continue to be so long as he keeps putting out such well channeled music!

By coincidence i'm listening to this album right now. I bought it at Soundscapes on College, they have it up on the new album display.

a thread on TA about music? haha holy shit! nice review, I'll check out the album for sure...

(ps. one of the ugliest album covers I've ever seen lol)

i like his bouncier/tech house style (like chromophobia) a lot more than his melodic stuff he's more well known for. but i will def. give this a listen, i haven't listened to a good full electronic artist album in awhile

No turning back is a little 'flaky'

LOVE eggplant!

i think the album is amazing. Not all dancefloor monsters but it definitely shows him evolving his sound into a more melodic and mature style.

will give this a listen. chromophobia is still one of my fav artist albums

Kind of ugly yeah, but I think it's supposed to be some type of "artistic" statement. Children wearing construction orange and resporators in a fake or manufactured (plastic flowers)environment...album title "take my breath away"?

I dunno...just a thought.
