LucasArts Appreciation Thread

LucasArts Adventure games, from 1986 to 2000.

Labyrinth (1986)
Maniac Mansion (1987)
Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders (1988)
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure (1989)
Loom (1990)
The Secret of Monkey Island (1990)
Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (1991)
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (1992)
Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle (1993)
Sam & Max Hit the Road (1993)
Full Throttle (1995)
The Dig (1995)
The Curse of Monkey Island (1997)
Grim Fandango (1998)
Escape from Monkey Island (2000)

If this isn't the best list of oldskool adventure games, I don't know what is! These were the funniest, best written games in history. I've played all of those except for the Indy's and Labyrinth. My absolute favorite is the first Monkey Island, and Sam & Max as a close second.

Remember these? Show some love!!

love them i have all the monkey islands for the pc i normally get bored of adventure games but always came back to them and finished them all.
I had one of the old indy games for the amiga 600 its was pretty good but couldnt get to finish it cause there was a error on one of the floppy disks.

Same happened to one of my Monkey Island 1 discs on the Amiga 500, think it was 5/6 or something (lol 6 discs), and that was the saddest moment of my life up until then.

Come to think of it, it happened with pretty much every Amiga game I ever owned, sooner or later. Which is actually kind of odd, that black reel inside of the disc always got scratched, even though it had that metal thing to cover it. So it would seem that it was the Amiga itself that broke them, and not the user, evil machine, lol.

Oh yeah these were the best!
Most importantly for me, most of them came out for the Mac (albeit sometimes a year late) at a time when the Mac had barely any games.

I had all the Monkey Islands, Fate of Atlantis, The Dig (very underrated, Full Throttle (my fav) and Grim Fandago.

Gems!

I played real games in the 80's and 90s..Mario, Earthworm Jim, Contra, F-Zero, Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat...no time for those crappy point and click Carmen Sandiego-type games you guys are talking about.

It's okay. I forgot about it too.

I think we were sticking to SCUUM adventure games here, but since you opened it up...

Rebel Assault 1 and 2. I don't care if it was "on-rails", I played those games for hours. The first one was legitimately tough too.

Good thread! I absolutely loved the Monkey Islands (1 and 2 especially) and of course Sam & Max. Played some of the newer Sam & Max but the magic isn't quite there.

I'm actually rather ashamed that I still haven't played Grim Fandango :|

I have never heard anyone compliment the newer ones in any way, didn't like them one bit myself either.
