Thumbs down Ron van den Beuken - Faraway *PUKE*

I really hate it when a producer blatantly rips another's work.

Here is another one.

What track did he rip off? Meh this track is like top 10 on BP Trance list, not a big fan. The Maarten De Jong dub remix is prob my fav remix of this track.

Ripping off other peoples music is how house started

I'm at work so I really don't have the time to type up a 'digi' style argument
But I'll start with the 'first house track' - Jamie Principle got his hands on a tape of Frankie Knuckles that was circulating - added vocals and some drum kit sounds and vola... Your Love was created.

House and all its genres evolved from producers/djs taking tracks fucking around with them and calling them their own.

Daft Punk comes to mind too.

There's a really good clip in the Pump of the Volume History of House documentary (which I cant find right now do to working but I think it's near the end) that explains this as well.

I shit you not, there was a day that Ron Van Den Beuken was a respectable producer.

It sounds like an amateur-mix of Saltwater.

As far as I know he re-recorded the vocals with different lyrics and a different vocalist - Perhaps he couldn't get the licence to use the sample from RCA, there's no way to know for sure. I'm not one to usually defend this kind of thing (usually when it's this similar), but it's also worth noting that while Ron van den Beuken didn't write this melody / chord, neither did Chicane.
