radio slave - no sleep (part six)

cool stuff, usually i'm not too into radio slave releases. i mean they're good if you have something to mash them with but this one really got me for some reason. i just love the ethnic elements

and i'm a sucker for anything ethnic

koma koma
sundaze

check em out, they're all over the place

like them both, but koma koma is my tune of choice in this one. i could see sundaze getting mashed with yiorgos mangas

Yea these are solid tools and would mash up really well with any beatless track or anything with minimal percussion.

Koma Koma is cool, I can see that doing some damage at WMC right now :/

That said, I want No Sleep 7...it's taking for fucking ever

He's been putting out decent stuff lately. I'm still in love with Ego Trippin'.

Not liking these as much as I normally like Radio Slave, just waiting for "Don't You Know" to come out tbh...

His recent remix of Mr. G's Make's No Sense is pretty damn good, don't you guys agree?

Posted by Guest on Mar-26-2009 19:25:

i've said before...just buy anything w/ radio slave on it. Its win until proven otherwise

can't stand the word 'ethnic', it's like saying 'colored' or something

this sound is about as 'ethnic' as the mandalay bay hotel in las vegas

it's like some generic, mythical ethnicity that producers with little ethnicity of which to speak appropriate to give their boring, lifeless tracks 'flavor', 'content', 'rhythm', and 'soul'

Organic is a better word. Meaning, sounds that were generated by, or at first glance, sound like they were generated by a human, not machine. I think that's a better way to say it than "ethnic"

Posted by bas on Mar-27-2009 23:01:

I think he means "vocals that aren't English".

Ethnic is a broad term, but for my music im talking about Latin, Indian, Afro, and Middle Eastern (oriental) sounds. This track is a bit minimal on the ethnic, but it does have a feel of another ethnicity. That said, I dont fight over defining things, or being a historian.

...and of course, by "oriental" I hope you actually mean "Asian" since it's 2009 and not 1959. Otherwise i might think you were racist

No. I mean oriental exactly how I said it. Some Middle Eastern music is called Oriental music, they call Turkish Belly Dancing music Oriental music.

Yah, this is more along the lines of what i've been making, more ethnic, more soul, more enjoyable music for me.
