Cool Waldorf Largo

Anybody else been watching this? Looks like a killer synth at a great price. I have a feeling it will be available tomorrow or Tuesday [anxiously refreshes Waldorf website with credit card in hand...]

It looks nice and i'll probably demo it, but i don't really need any more virtual analogues at this point.

Neither do I, but that's not gonna stop me.

it's basically the terratec komplexer with a new GUI and some small improvements.

I can see the similarities, but does Waldorf have access to Terratec's original source code?

I'm quite excited about Largo. I'm really hoping that (FINALLY) it will be the first soft synth I actually like.

I just really want to hear some demo sounds, because it looks awfully nice but can it pack the same kind of punch aurally?

I"ll definitely demo it, but I really have my eyes on a Q+

Stefan Stenzel from Waldorf wrote komplexer after Waldorf went into insolvency. After Waldorf came back terratec discontinued komplexer.

it's not a bad synth but i never liked the waldorf sound. the waldorf synths have just a too digital sound for me (especially the Q line)

This would make sense since they really seemed to come out with Largo from no where.

It's wavetable synthesis

I'll still be lining up to buy a copy, though. I just umm.. "downloaded" a copy of Komplexor. It was quite nice. The wavetables sounded great and it didn't really have that "plastic" sound that so many soft synths do. I think Largo will be very popular and may be a great way for me to branch off my sound banks into software.

Cant wait to try this out.

I hope they have captured the Q sound. Definately one of my favorite synthesizers of all time along with their microwave 1 with the analogue filter.

The komplexer sounded very boxy and 2d compared with waldorfs hardware range. The filter was quite a way off as well.

I am really hoping this synth will shine. it could possibly be one of the best vsts to come to the market.

It's about damn time ...

Posted by cryophonik on Jun-02-2009 21:53:

Yeah, except the online stores are showing that it won't be available until June 16 or later. Surprise, surprise, surprise...

I'm excited for this one too, I just wonder if they are actually gonna put a demo.....

Posted by Stephen Wiley on Jun-03-2009 03:08:

I'll be buying this the day it comes out...so I too am waiting for it. I've got 3 different websites that are supposed to email me when its in stock.

Sure would like to know what the hell the hold up is and why they will not give a firm date.
