REVIEW: Sander Kleinenberg @ Shine
Did anyone not stay for Sander K @ Shine because I have seen no one talk about it.
I thought it was one of sanders best sets ever. It flowed oh so perfectly. Normally when you see sander (like on the terrace) its good but has a few down points and a lot of long drawn out tracks that seem to not got anywhere for 10 mins. Sander at shine was the definition of perfect music in every way. He even lined up DVJ tracks perfectly and looped old video clips to eventually line up with new ones.
Shine itself was nice, decent sound, good bass and not a quiet place in the club. Dark lighting with leds all the way around the club kinda like bed. As any club in miami, expensive drinks.
Unfortunately I had to leave early to pack and catch my 8am flight but he got on at 2am and apparently played till 7am from what I am told.
I have some video and will get it up by the end of the week
i had a really fun time at Sander Kleinenberg at Shine... it was the most fun i've had in a long time...

great great fucking party...best one of wmc for me. his set was amazing
was there and loved every minute of it, sander killed it. the best part, tho, was the crowd... the place was packed and I met a ton of awesome people, best crowd of a WMC event that i've been to. I know what you're saying about the drinks being expensive...4 vodka red bulls ran me $104
I uploaded more but youtube is doing some maintenance so i guess they will process later
Sander K absolutely DESTROYED on the decks! That was an amazingly good set and I had fun the entire time. He kept going until about 5:45am or so. I hadn't seen him live in over 4 years before that night and I was so glad I bought the ticket for the show. I wish there was a way I could get hold of the track "This Is Our Night" because that track is hot. He played it three times in the same set.
About Shine - it's small, it gets extremely hot (I found a nice little spot where the AC was blowing and stood there about half the set), and it's like a fallout shelter. Why I say that is because I heard the ceiling is 2 feet thick of concrete and the walls are each a foot thick. I couldn't get cell phone reception worth shit inside.
This was Sander's 2009 Terrace set but in a different venue.
I didn't like how he didn't finish his last song
I did not like how you had to leave the club to take a leak.
I did have to finish my eighth before my flight which was a couple hours after the party so non-stop smoking for me! lol (I didn't mind sharing with anyone around me)
The set was phenominal! Wonder if it was recorded.

Fucking party was nuts. Snuck in to that place like 4 different times during the night becase I sold my tix to others that didnt want to pay $50 to get in. We got there around 11 and place was already bumping but in a quite crowd kind of way. Snuck in a flask filled with vodka and started pounding. Ran into others from TX that were at the party and snuck in 4 of my friends so they didnt have to pay that rediculous cover charge. Left around 2 n change to go to McDonalds(drunk munchies) and came back to hear Sander tear me a new one until 430 when we headed back to the condo to gather things and then flew out on a 645am flight bk home. Crazy way to end conference this year. Cried like a little girl during:

This was defnintely my best party this WMC, and in fact in a VERY long time. Sander's set was superb and the way he continuously smiled and worked the crowd created a vibe I hadn't experienced in a LONG time. Was sober but he elevated me to the strongest natural high I've ever had, which was unbelievably good and long lasting.

If this is what Sander does in Miami.... I'm glad I was there just once to see it first hand....
Yes, Shine was disgustingly hot... but the music made up for it ten fold. Staying at the Shelbourne was great in the fact that we walk up to the door at 330 get a wrist band and we're there till the lights come up.
The crowd was completly into every minute of Sander's set. His smiling... crowd cheering... the friggin' mad house booth party... This was an experience I have not had before nor do I think I'll have again.
Just looking around when Wonderwall was playing, seeing the hands in the air in a packed full club, everyone chanting the words... magic.
Last minute decision well played.
i was there too and it was definateley a rockin party! i saw him on the yacht on thursday and both sets were so good, but this was just off the hook! unfortunately i had to leave around 4am cause the week of partying had really started to take its toll on my gf. but i was dead front and center, as close to the man as i could get that night! and i agree "this is our night" was probably the best new track i heard all week and definately the anthem for WMC this year in my book!
ps. did anyone else notice ARMIN chillin out and paying respects to sander??? no one's mentioned it on this thread! i have some funny pics of armin texting someone hahahaha. but definately the best set i've heard from sander (and this was the 9th time i've seen him!)
also my friends who stayed later told me he dropped "my lexicon"... i was DYING to hear that track! its so beautiful, but he almost never plays it live anymore! i was pissed when i found out i missed it!
Ya, Armin, Ferry, and some of the Swedish House Mafia were in the boothe which was cool as fuck. Sander even gave a shoutout in his own words = "the best dj's in the Netherlands"
