Sub Bass Of Key ?

is this possible? i have a 8 bar chord proggresion and a sub bass following every step of the chord progression. I know the notes are in the proper place, my sub bass sounds off when i go 1 oct higher.

maybe too much EQ on the bass?

starting to get a headache on this.

im using Rob Papen "BLUE" to create the sub bass.

Have you checked the oscillators, maybe you added an octave on one of them on mistake. I guess you already did but if you didn't I will look like a genius if I'm right ;P Not familiar with that synth so I don't know.

Whack up a sample dude, we'll be able to assess stuff better then.

Sub usually is in one octave. So if you go up a whole octave its very possible the sub will get weak. You have to modify the bass line in a way that is still coherent but stays in one octave.

+1

And see if there is a 'keytrack' function you can enable. I don't use Blue so I don't know.

I find my pitch perception can be a little off with certain lower frequencies. I tend to have to do the composition of some basslines in a higher octave then transpose them back down again afterwards.

Perhaps this is happening to you too?
