Need help creating 2 sounds.

Ok , first sound is a supersaw , but a really 'unique' one.
I have tried Sylenth1, Vanguard and Gladiator , even Nexus , but hell i cant get this sound.. It sounds like a sawtooth.. But kinda squarish.. lol.
Its from Meltdown,

And the second sound.. Well i think its really stupid..
But its the lead sound of Elements of Life
It sounds like a square , yet it sounds like a saw, so im really
puzzled at this. Is it FM synthesis? Or is it just analog?

I am no genius but the first just sounds like hollowed layered saws. probably just a few saws stacked up and then EQ'd to filter out some of the lower freq's

Not sure on the second one. If it's a saw it has some major ADSR editing.

What do you mean by 'hollowed'?

If it's not hollow, then its dense/full

It just sounds really weak in the low ends is all. Doesn't sound like it would be terribly hard to recreate

about your second sound...

I think I got rather close with a z3ta patch and some distortion from kombinat.

I guess its a combination of a saw and a modulated square... probably using a highpass filter. The squary low bitrate character probably comes from the distortion/waveshaping, maybe also bitcrushing. You could for example layer a slightly noisy saw with a distorted low-bit square.

anyway here is where I got (audio sample and presets).

I agree with stephen wiley on the first one. It sounds pretty much like several detuned saw waves with a short decay but a lot of delay and a little bit of noise. Then highpass filter them and add a little bit of distortion. Maybe a good chorus effect to give an extra detuning effect.

oh and also a boost at around 8kHz could help.

Ah.. About that second sound , yeah it sounds pretty close , but since i dont have that distortion plugin.. oh well..

About that first sound , I still find it hard .. I used vanguard , loaded 3 saws , apply fat and vcs full on them , eq , filter , delay, but it still lacks that 'punchiness'

The first link doesn't work anymore .. edit:.. it does

About that second sound, I indeed hear a saw and square type of sound, but since it's kinda 'metallic', could be that is use some type of FM modulation. I will try to recreate the sound on my virus, cause it has really awesome FM modulation.

I will post my results

Would love to hear your results , and yeah It sounded kinda 'metallic' ,
so I was thinking :"cant be pure analog" lol.
Btw which model of Virus are you using?

I'm using a Virus C. But I'm sure it can be 'kinda' duplicated using a softsynth. I always start programming my Virus, if I have a sound I like, I will try to duplicate it with a softsynth.
