that does look pretty cool. i can't hear shit (at work) but it looks pretty cool.

Yeah, it's pretty sweet. Now this is a one of a kind event that IMO it's worth traveling to. I probably would've gone if I would've know about it.

FOR AN ANGEL with Violins and the full orchestra sounds amazing. Yes, we're all tired of that song, but it just sounds different, in a good way.

someone posted a video of this in general. looks awesome but man Josee Hurlock didn't do any justice to the tracks she sang esp Castaway

PVD IS THE NEW YANNI!!!

Looks like Jeff Mill's has done it too, and so has Carl Craig. But IMO, the PVD one outshines the rest.

Pretty sure Ferry did something with a big symphony years back. Think in Japan?

Thanks Woody! Really cool, I love this type of stuff. Wish someone would do this at Hollywood Bowl.

That was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this. This would be perfect there. Kinda like those KCRW events. Wait, didn't Oakenfold did something like this for KCRW a while back?

Posted by Lostvission on Apr-07-2009 02:46:

oakenfold is the only one whos used a orchestra so far...PVD will be the second.

didn't hybrid do something with the russian phil harmonic a few years back?

*edit* Hybrid hired the Russian Federal Orchestra for the string sections of Wide Angle, 1999.

Try Jean Michelle jarre - Electronica with full orchestra...IN THE LATE 80's!!!

It's not uncommon to hire orchestra sections for parts of tracks (think film scores) but In fairness Jeff Mills was the first to really do a live orchestral performance of an EDM track in the modern era.

saw oakie with orchestra at wmc and that was amazing. wish more did this. must be very emotional to have an orchestra play with you.
