-- Citronic PD-2s?
Citronic PD-2s?
Has anybody got these decks or ever played on them? If so are they worth buying or should I continue to save up ? I really want some decks asap but dont want to end end up buying some cheap crappy model that doesnt hold their pitch
citronics?!?! man HELL NO! Save SAVE, and Save some more! Believe me, i was in the same position four months ago. I kept saving and bought Technic 1200mkII's. Believe me, YOu will be happy you made that choice. But If you know you aren't going to be into DJing for a long time, Then I'd recommend the Gemini PT 2100, Vestax 2000 or Stanton STR 100's. They are some of the better inferior decks.
citronic... sounds like some kind of fruit

Is there much point in buying mk3's over mk2's? I know about the pitch thing on mk2's but I would be playing like all tunes at like +4 pitch n e wayz so it wouldnt be near 0 (in the dead zone). | quote: |

I paid extra for the m3ds, and i love em. the pitch notch is not there, that is nice, the reset button is good for ripping vinyl, or tracks that you KNOW are exactly the same BPM.
the headshell holder has been laughed at by many, but i like it. I bought some new headshells and needles as soon as i got my decks, and the technics ones are now sitting in the holder. where else would i put them.
but the best part has to be the dustcovers that come off super easy.
i think they are worth $50 bucks, even if only to know that you have the best decks on planet earth.
i couldn't wait and bought the numark 1520's
now i'm thinking i should've waited, but i wanted decks badly, and i got them only 4 months old at 400 for the pair, which isn't too bad, cause they are 400 a piece brand new at a store here
*sob* Well I've got some PD-1s and their not that bad!!!
I've DJ-ed out on Technics, and I've ad a go on Numarks (the chrome ones whatever their called) and the difference that I feel between them and mine is minimal. Leave Citronic alone! I've learnt to mix on mine perfectly well! *Grr*

D'oh, sum one has said summat good about em, jus when I was pretty definetly going to save up more cash! The PD-2's are supposedly better than PD-1s, n I have read bout PD-1 bein good for beat matchin on websites n blah de blah blah. Is there really that much difference between PD-1s n 2s n 1200 series >>?<<
I bought 'em second hand at a bargain price, and to be honest, (in my opinion) I think that until you are fucking good at mixing you probably won't notice all that much difference in shithot decks. Also you are buying a better model, NEW!
I'm not saying that all decks are the same, I've had a go on me mates gemini ones (cheapy model but can't remember name) and I thought they were crap. Then again, it could be what you get used to.
I'm sure that you could buy something better for more money, but I don't believe that Citronic are shit I've had mine for two years and they have taught me to mix, and I can mix on other decks too. If that is how you are starting out, then you should ask if its really worth splashing out hundreds more s. I'd save your cash and make sure you get a reasonably good mixer. I got a miniscule IMQ mixer (doesn't even have a MID) which was thrown in with the decks (got the lot for 250!) and has taught me to mix fine too, and only now am I starting to think about investing in a new mixer. To learn the basics you don't need to spend a fortune. Your gonna need muchos cashos for your vinyl!
I recently spoke to a bloke who runs an shop that stocks decks and he said Citronic are pretty damn reliable.
I love my Citronics
, if I could afford it, its a new mixer I'd be buying, not new decks!
