Clean songs getting Clipping after transfer

Hi guys, I wonder if anyone has had this problem and can help me out.

The problem is that I'm trying to copy wav files from my external hard drive into this Windows Vista based PC, but every time I copy them and listen to them, there is clipping and skipping at least 4 or 5 times through the wav, and this wasn't like that before I did the transfer, anyone has an idea of what is going on?

Maybe the files are 24 bit and does not want to play well with the music player you are trying to play it with.

I know my Windows Media Player will not play 24 bit files.

Just a long shot.

maybe u got an internal motherboard soundcard on vista PC that sucks. try asio4all drivers, maybe it will help.
