Logic 8 users - Playhead out of sync

Hi All,

I've just noticed that when I play my track back (with my kick starting on Bar 2) the playhead seems to play the audio before hitting Bar 2

Here's a screen shot to show it plays at 1.4.3? Is this normal for Logic and can any of you guys replicate the problem for me.

Would this affect the timing in your track? I seem to have tried all the options in logic to rectify the problem but no joy.

Thanks in advance for any help on this

odd. Do you have any plug-in compensation or anything turned on in your audio project settings? something like that might be messing with your business.

I just set up a blank template with no plugs and imported an audio file.

It's on the default settings in audio. Something to try I guess. Cheers for the reply.

-open the inspector and make sure there's no negative delay in the small box!!!

-check with a different sound card. If using an external one, try the internal mac soundcard.

-if you're on a hackintosh with a different soundcard, well you're out of luck and will probably need another one

-make sure there's no negative delay into the prefs box either.

-update your mac os, logic pro 8 to the latest version, and don't forget all graphic, security updates.

Checked this and no delay

-check with a different sound card. If using an external one, try the internal mac soundcard.

Checked...same problem

No, not on Hackintosh

-make sure there's no negative delay into the prefs box either.

Checked...none

-update your mac os, logic pro 8 to the latest version, and don't forget all graphic, security updates.

Always check every few days

Many thanks for the reply Lolo Some great things to check there. I should have done these myself

I am using a Mac pro with OS X 10.5.6 running on 2 x 2.8 ghz Quad core intel xeon with 4 gb ram. I am also on Logic 8.0.2 (latest version).

I am using an Apogee Duet firewire soundcard set at 512 buffer. Tried changing buffer, no diff.

It's def a strange one. I'll keep trying a few diff things to see if I can get rid of it...

Paul

Take the Duet(+ drivers) entirely out of the equation. Go to LOGIC > PREFS > AUDIO and choose the built-in device. see what that does.

You bought Logic from Apple, you could always call tech support yeah?

or you can hit me on ichat next week and I'll screen share with you so hopefully I can fix the problem. That sounds weird anyway. I've never had anything like that myself.
