ATB gone Drum N Bass?

Posted by Protege on Apr-12-2009 06:27:

Are there really that many people that still like ATB?

Posted by MSZ on Apr-12-2009 09:04:

what the shit? this is cheese dance not dnb

Posted by Chimney on Apr-12-2009 09:21:

It was long time ago ATB should've thrown in the towel.

Dune! Woohoooo!! *raves*

As for ATB's track. Meh. But it doesn't exactly sound like dnb to me.

Yikes, how does this guy get gigs?

Posted by jovjo003 on Apr-12-2009 17:32:

you guys are all haters or not even into trance. if you listen to the other tracks from his new album, you'll be quite surprised. there was alot of vocal stuff on there that's the old atb, but with a new style. he even has betsie larkin, the singer from ferry's "made of love" video on his new album. go check it out!

Posted by Seppuku on Apr-12-2009 17:38:

Dear god that was awful. That video is gayer than some of Armin's.

I'll say this: ATB is really good at doing what he does - making super cheesy music that appeals to a lot of eurodanceheads. Calling us haters or "not into trance" is like saying "Budweiser is great, don't be a hater, you must hate beer".

Any musical artist in the world can create a "cheesy" track. From Ferry to hip-hop artists, there's ALWAYS going to be some cheesy track that will eventually come from them. But when it comes down to style, its always easy to recognize if its ATB or not. Sure it does appeal to alot of eurodance fans and may not be a good track.

But bashing someone just b/c of one song that's not "great" does not mean that they overall suck. He's created great music in the past from 9pm and still does so today.

sounds like BT on happy drugs. how can anyone call this dnb btw?
btw dont fuck with Dune they have some of the best produces tracks of all time.

He has a few good tunes and I like some of his works, but most of his stuff sounds the same and most of his stuff is not that good. IMHO.

This does indeed sound like ATB has dug out the oldschool hardtrance/rave records from his Sequential One-days, which isn't a bad idea on paper. Unfortunately, he seems to have forgotten the fact that those records never took themselves too seriously, and were made solely to get the dancefloor going. Thus, mixing it with modern epic trance influences like he has done here gives an absolutely abysmal result.

But hey, at least he tried to come up with something a bit different.

I don't care enough to listen to the track, but when I saw ATB live last year he killed it. Really good tunes and pretty decent mixing. Its actually the only real uplifting I've seen played for a long time.

Quoted for truth. I got a bit excited at the end when that white van drove by him at the end though. I thought they were going to stick an uzi out the window and execute his sorry ass.

And the OP is an imbecile if he really thinks this is DnB

Posted by enydo on Apr-13-2009 20:21:

Why is this shithead still making music?

UNTIL I CUM CUM CUM CUM CUM CUM CUM CUM CUM CUM
5AM AND I'M CUMMMMMING

Posted by Seppuku on Apr-13-2009 20:23:

BUT WHAT ABOUT US?

Posted by pozz on Apr-14-2009 02:42:

it is dnb. the new popular sound, sorta like the 'jump-up' that aphrodite was known for back in the day.

a shit track, not unlike quivver's 'dnb' - chasin a feelin

edit: sounds like he took inspiration from concord dawn - morning light

Eh, it's just a 2-step rhythm. Not exactly something exclusive to d'n'b, but certainly used to gratuitous amounts in the genre.

I find it hilarious that you only hear it for 50 seconds of the whole vid. It's like ATB knows his trance audience can't handle 2-step rhythms, so he uses it sparingly.

Posted by weymouth on Apr-14-2009 04:49:

Uhm....Where is the beat? bass?

How did the op think this was dnb?
