Sold my mixer, looking to buy a Pioneer 800 [Recommendations?]

sold my old rane mp44, and looking to buy a pioneer800. Looking to learn how to use the effects. Anyone know where to buy one at a resonable price?

my budject is around 800 to 1K

You probably should have held onto your Rane until you found a DJM800 in your price range. You're gonna be hard-pressed to find even a used one under $1200.

Apparently somebody didn't read the OP's reasoning for wanting a DJM 800.

Nonetheless, I agree that A&H mixers are better. But the OP would still spend the same $ for A&H without the FX.

Try getting an ecler evo4? Look on ebay though, theres real good deals on ebay . Pio's are high priced because everyones looking for them. Other companies like a&h and ecler are overlooked because most clubs use the 800 and thats what most people want. The 800 is cool, but not worth the price IMO.

i read the OP. my recommendation is STILL get something by A&H. then buy a separate effects processor if you want one. this is how you get both a better mixer and a better effects processor, and as a bonus the effects are now portable in case you want to take them with you to a show.

Great idea. I miss my A & H.

Apparently, someone is in a shitty mood today.

Hope you feel better. We gotta hang out soon.

Thats crazy talk!

I bought my DJM-800 (when I had one) the week it came out for $1300 Out the door.

If you have any internet skills and can negotiate, Guitar Center is your friend.

When I sold mine it only pulled $1150 and that was over a year ago, times are tough right now. I am sure you can find a good deal.

You can get a used Pioneer 600 for $600.

Looking for a DJM 800 as well.. Don't talk me out of it, I'm picky. ;]

Perhaps my mood at the time was reflected in my harsh words, but the reality is that the OP is looking for a DJM 800 because of the FX. Waterproofpaper's response reflected none of those inquiries. But I'm over it LOL!

Much better. We should kick it old school sometime soon. I'll have more free time when I finish reworking my currently-all-too-basic website.

Alex has a nice metal stand to hold his mixer, a pair of cdjs and a pair of TT that he got off the dirty duo but has yet to set it up...

Posted by blakh0rse on Apr-14-2009 18:11:

Was it custom? Or do you know what kind? I saw some that I like, but a bit pricey. I want to see if i can do something for cheap.

Posted by rizo on Apr-14-2009 18:32:

dont think its custom, esp nothing like yapas. forgot the brand though and hes had it for awhile, probably a year and half now.

I just need something really simple and small with open space underneath. Not enough room to fit even a table.

Posted by Means+Function on Apr-14-2009 19:25:

I just upgraded to a DJM-700 from my 600 a few weeks ago. I'd been debated between the 700 and 800, but on balance, I think the 700 gives you more bang for your buck. The manual filter is also a nice extra you don't get on the 800.

BTW, if anyone's in the market for a DJM-600 in excellent condition, I'll let it go to a fellow TA for $500.
