How many of you are DJs?
Just curious and trying to avoid work today, but sometimes I feel like I'm the only person here who is isn't a DJ.
I'm not a DJ, either.
Im not, but want to be!

Looks like I'm the only one who voted yes so far.
i was for about 10 years or so things never really went anywhere and now i produce
witch is much better i think, you can express yourself more and get greater chances to be a dj if you was to be a producer.
i where but gear took too much space and vinyl was expensive pluss the releases got only worse and worse both artistic and production wise. my last vinyls sounded shit and was horrible and a waste of money. as a last try i got CD players but i never found a way to keep the tracks sorted after burning them out as I was used to sleeves with colors etc instead of looking on tracknames. I might give it a shot again soon, but pure software/mp3/laptop.
Does hosting an mp3 stream count? Ive done that before.
Soon (I'll be 'DJing' with Live).
I'm not a DJ, and have no desire to be one.
I am a dj but not a producer yet. I have been djing for about 1 1/2 years and honed my skills quite a bit.
Now is where I want to start producing. I know next to nothing about producing so I feel like an ass. What can I do to start things off without looking like such a noob....?

Just because you have a laptop, doesn't make you a DJ.
have been for almost a decade. there are not many things that feel better than having a crowd in your finger tips
Dj-ing a couple of years now. Hopefully visiting Serbia and Finland the coming months because of it
Yep.
DJing is quite a bit of fun
Dj'd most of my life since I was like 10, started with my dad doin the generic kind, like weddings and parties, it was fun, but, I got older, went to my first rave, Spacegirl was playing, it was that moment I decided I was gonna produce trance. I spun everything, trance, house, hardcore, hip hop, reggae, and got paid at local bars everywhere around me, then I got me enough equipment to start producing and have not dj'd even for fun since then. I am on a mission to produce an album or hopefully many albums. Who knows what life brings next, hopefully people listenin to my tunes
I'm too shy to DJ

yes I am, since 1999, always at "do it yourself" parties and little clubs. my best night was doing the warm up for a very important local dj.
now I am mostly a producer than a dj because of time and "competition", today here in Buenos Aires averybody could dj, they play some crappy minimal sound and the clubs prefer that sound :@

Im just an avid collector of trance vinyl and I needed a way to play them. That said Im not really a producer either. I just like to compose awesome melodies and record them. The actual putting it all together does not interest me at all. |
