I could only dream of a summer like this........

Could you imagine having a whole summer to party, hit festivals, and leave everything behind. I could only imagine how amazing it would be to go. I seriously wonder what the total cost for transportation, food, booze, party enhancers, shelter ect, would be for the whole summer.

There are a few other festivals but I didnt include them cause I have to go back to work.

To be honest, if get accepted to school I may try and hit half of these next summer. depending on the prices of courses. I figure between the partying the tourist shit can be accomplished.

Glastonbury, England June 24-28, 2009 180.00 Pounds

Sensation Wicked Wonderland, Netherlands
July 4, 2009 69.00 Euros

T in the Park, Glasgow, Scotland July 10-12, 2009 145.00 Pounds

Love Parade, Duisburg, Germany July 18, 2009 ?Free?

Global Gathering Long Marston Airfield, England July 24,25, 2009 175.00 Pounds

BBC Radio 1 in Ibiza Aug, 7-21, 2009 Various $$$

Mysteryland Haarlemmeer, Holand Aug 29, 2009 95.00 Euros

Creamfields, Liverpool, England Aug 29-30 2009 100.00 Pounds

Mysteryland is a MUST!!

Just wait until they release tickets on their website. You can get tickets as cheap as 35EUROS

Don't buy from ticketonline, they rip you off. The actual tickets go on sale in May.

You will need at least 100 Euros with you that day if you want to go full out! lol The party starts at 11AM and ends at 11PM.

lol I think Glasto tickets are already sold out...

ps. you're talking serious $$$$$$$$ w/ most of those parties

Cale and I went to Holland and Ibiza a couple of summers ago for 2 months. We spent most of the time in Holland and hit up Dance Valley, Sensation, Extrema, Daft Punk etc. It cost a boat load...but was totally and utterly worth it. I would do it again in a heart beat. My reasoning for going at the time we did was b/c I had just finished undergrad and knew that it was the last summer I would have off in a long time. It was a somewhat of a graduation present to myself.

Edit: If you're thinking of hitting up Ibiza specifically here's our thread that has tons of info http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...highlight=ibiza

We never made a Holland thread. Did all that researching on our own.

It's totally doable and completely worth it.
I, like Lisa did it in 2004 as a grad present to myself, went for 2 months, 6 weeks, all over. 4 weeks mainland EU, London, Paris, Brussells, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Berlin, Rome, then 2 weeks in Cyprus.

DO IT.

Last spring and summer I did a 3.5 month backpacking trip across Europe, and while it was pricey, it was fucking amazing.

This summer I have summer school to look forward to, lol.

Completely worth it if you have the summer off, b/c as you get older, chances like that will not be as easy. For me, last summer I had to write my thesis, this summer I have mandatory summer school, next summer I should be working at a law firm, the summer after that I'll be articling and writing my bar exams, then it's off to the real world. It was the only summer I could get a full 2 months off, so start saving now...don't be stingy...DO IT!!!

No way, the pound is $1.80 versus our dollar right now so it's like $320 (which is still alot)

Global Gathering is what I would hit up, no doubt about it, and its right on my B day

A few other festivals...there are a ton of other festivals in cooler places with better music. Maybe you'll start liking some good music by the time you go.

LOL! If I had a euro for every time you've said that to me, I'd have enough to go to all those festivals.

See that is exactly what i was thinking, this will be the only chance I get if I'm accepted to teachers college, after that I'm going to be rather confined and wont be able to party my ass off for a month. Why Holland over England though? More trance parties or the festivals or better?

2 words...Ferry Corsten. We had an apartment in Jordaan, Amsterdam. I fell in love with the city and could live there for the rest of my life. It's not at all what I expected.

I did something like this back in 2004 when I took the entire summer off to travel. It's totally doable and you can average about $1000 CAD per week, with flights and everything included..

When we went (TAs and other friends) we basically did Hostelling...a lot of people think it's the 'sketchy' dirty way to travel but I have stayed at some of the coolest/clean places in Hostels. Just check the ratings online before booking.

First time I travelled alone for more than a week was in Spain in 05, it's doable even if you don't really speak the language but it helps if you try/know a bit and go prepared (obviously)

Right because everything revolves around what you think is better music or good music... jeez

Yes, I stayed in hostels. Sometimes I was with other people, but more often than not I was alone.
