The Doors - The End (Riva Starr Re-Trip)

The awesomeness of The End, and a beat to mix with.

I think this is really sweet, and I would definitely want to hear more remixes that are made like this. Very, very true to the original.

Thoughts?

Sounds terrible. This track doesn't need a dancefloor version- it doesn't have a dancefloor mood- and if you were going to remix it you'd have to completely rework it into a trippy electronic style with barely any recognisable elements of the original retained. I could just about picture, say, Rabbit In The Moon doing a mindfuck acid remix, but this is a glorified re-edit that is too close to the original. It's like someone made a rave .gif of the intro to Apocalypse Now. Bathos.

That's one way to look at it, and I do like the type of remixes that you mentioned, too. But those acid mindfuck remixes of classics have a tendency to sound even worse if not done properly.

I like it simple.

Would Fade's remix of Silence fit into that category as well?
