Just wondering what your reason behind

WARNING - Do not book a hotel in:
-Dearborn

is?

Probably because it's a $40 cab ride into downtown. We were there last year and took the city bus into DT for cheap, but the bus stops running at 1am or so. Just book something in downtown.

Anyone know anything about the milner downtown? Hear all kinds of things like "its dirty, small, etc". But I mean isnt that all part of the experience? I sort of consider this weekend on par with camping or something. Rave camping.

The Milner is a "historic" hotel. I guess if you really want the nitty gritty Detroit experience you should stay there. My friends stayed there last year for that reason. That drive by shooting everyone heard about, it happened right outside the Milner, my friends said there were brains on the sidewalk outside their window for like a whole day after.
But, that doesn't really relate to the hotel.
The hotel itself is yeah... dirty, old, smelly, zero frills. Personally I like to have a nice clean quiet spot to retreat to on big party weekends.
I wouldn't stay there unless it's dirt cheap, pun intended.

Apparently the people that are throwing the 3 Days of House Music events at the Big City Bar & Grille might still be able to get you a discount rate at the Holiday Inn Express....

$99 Hotel Rooms Holiday Inn Express (313)887-7000 Ask for the "Strictly House Detroit" Rate based on Availability

its so crazy how much cheaper rooms are this year. prices when down by almost half the price at most locations. got to love a crappy economy and a few new hotels added to the mix.
