That night was the first time I used it at Guv, so there's a learning curve as to when and when not to use it. In the very dark places, which basically are the places other than the main room and Kool Haus, some type of lighting is needed. I found that if I have the light in my hand and cover it half way, the light seems to be sufficient enough to do the trick for the very closeup stuff. As in the case with Deko-ze, etc. When I used it in the main room I used it full, as in the case with the crowd shots and Chinamon. Outside of Chinamon, every other person didn't seem to mind it as long as it's not trained on them too long. That's where you see the ppl hamming it up and reacting pretty good. The more chances I'll get to use it, the more I can get a feel for any negative reactions. After all not everyone is in the mood, especially when the place is relatively dark compared to the brightness of the light. I got the idea of using it from when Shaya got me up for a few minutes to record Above & Beyond. Their camcorder dude had this mega floodlight on all the time and ppl were not freaking out when he was recording crowd shots. He also had it on for quite a bit too. BTW he was a really nice guy too. He said my camera was wicked for the size, as he had one of those large professional one. I wonder how his video turned out?

I prefer to not use it at all, but there are times when it works out great... again referring to The Orange Room and The Drink. I also noticed the Shaya had used some type of light in some of his videos as you can see when it's turned on and off.

As for Chinamon... sorry buddy, I'll make sure it doesn't happen again. :)

i believe thats the infrared light... aka night mode or night vision or whatever the manufacturer labels it.

Hmmm... it's possible. I'll have to look again to see if there's color present in those segments. I seem to remember there was, but then again I could be wrong. My infra red mode works really well, but all the colors are removed and shades of greens are inserted in their place. It also makes ppls eye's look more like the reflecting brightness you see in cats eyes. I didn't seem to recall that effect in Shaya's vids, but then again it's some time since I re-visited his prior videos and don't remember it well enough. If that fact about his camera, then his is more subtle with that effect as opposed to the brutality of that effect on mine. This is why I perfer not to use it. It would be cool if they could have had a blended effect of both, this way the bright colors would superimpose in the darker infrared images.

Great video as always, Francis. I really like the intros you make with all the Guv graphics etc. Keep it up!

The light was an amazing idea. Much easier to see certain parts. Good job
