Has anyone ever been to Egypt or Paris, France?

I'm going Monday (4/20) to Sunday. Going to Cairo, Egypt for the week, other cities include Sharm El Sheik and possibly Alexandria.

Got a 1/2 day layover on the way back in Paris. Any reccomendations?

Thanks!

There's a ton of stuff to see in Paris just be aware it takes about 45 mins to an hr by train to get from Charles du Gaulle airport to the city. I'd suggest heading to the city and checking out the Eiffel Tower. Grab a bottle of wine from any grocer on the way. The metro is easy to figure out as well. Have fun! There's plenty to see around the tower too. You don't even have to go up there to appreciate it.

I spent about a week in Paris and some of the best time I had was just wandering around, looking at stuff

You know,

Coincidentally Bas and Clovise are from Egypt and France. I wonder if they would honor me with some words.

1/2 a day in Paris isn't worth leaving the airport.

Cairo rules. Definitely do the sight seeing. It's touristy but it's amazing. Do as much as you can, Valley of the Kings, Luxor, the Sphinx, the pyramids. It's all amazing.

Unfortunately most of my visits to Egypt involve family stuff so I can't be of much help

Thanks Bas. Looks like we will do what you said while in Cairo and we'll party in Sharm for a night or two. Is Alexadria worth going to?

Paris - Looks like my mission will be to go to the Eiffel Tower and back. lol

for some reason everytime i go to egypt, my family takes me sight seeing again. but yea def check out all those places, might be really hot in the valley of the kings though. i went in december once and it was like 100. def check out the pyramids and there is a museum for this boat right next to the big pyramid, its pretty cool too.

not sure if alexandria is worth it, i've been once and we just went for a day trip from some town (near marina) farther east on the mediterranean. we went to some castle or kings mansion or something it was pretty cool, i thikn there are better things to see in egypt though. check out the citadel too, its in cairo or close to it. its pretty sweet

Dang, they worked you over there... thats kinda weak on their end... Anyways, take a cab down to the Champs-lyses from the airport (50$ each way but worth it) and walk around the Eiffle tower/river area... The architecture is beautiful.... they have this cool garden infront of the louve where all the couples get all sappy and lovey-dovey too... then bounce on back to the US... thats exactly what I did

I'm in Cairo now. Sander K is here Thursday night. I may go to Sharm tomorrow (Wednesday) and back to Cairo for Sander.

I have a female friend in Paris on Sunday in the Latin Quarter so someone I must go there as well.
