Anyone Remember SHOKK

Back in the day when i was really into trance. These guys were fantastic. And the side project flutlicht, they were really good as well. I remember all the posts about how to get their sound which apparantly was from vaz 2010. And then how they just disapeared with a few later releases by just Marco i think which kinda sucked. I think they were one of the most inovative trance producers of all time. I remember how alphozone started rippin alot of their aesthetics and i think their influence, even in mainstream trance which they really weren't apart of, was huge. Those were the days when producing was a mystery that nobody really talked about. Nobody had any idea how any of the sounds were made. There were no sample cds like vengeance and most producers had a very unique sound.

their lighter stuff

i think that was done in 2001. So ahead of its time.

and my fav hard track from them which was from 2000

and then flutlicht, my fav track which was a little later than the first one i posted

they really are all great. I can't think of one bad track from them until the one guy left. And they were all very unique. I really regret selling all my records. It is really such a shame that so much music in that period was never released as digital.

Feel free to ignore this. :

marco stated once that all of their productions had been arranged in FL.

The Ssynth was made with the VAZ 2010 (to bad that this one works only on Windows systems).

oh hai

Yes I remember the might that is SHOKK + Flutlicht

Do I remember the nights where those tracks were played, barely. Do I remember their tracks being played, definitely. lol

Flutlicht - Ahmea The track that started our group loving their style. Great call and answer percussion with original sounds, rich bass and leads and a confident arrangement that feels very natural. We know every sounds in this one and their sound is massive. If I could make a track 1% percent as confident and original (at the time)as this I will die happy.

Flutlicht - Mutterkorn Swiftly brought after Ahmea.. what a beast what a bass. And the build up to 3:57 when the riff comes in AAAHHHH

Tony Walker - Fields of Joy

Which is has a great ripping riff in a remix of one of my favourite trance tracks ever: The Genius that is Tony Walker - Fields of Joy (Original Mix)

Just not my thing. How can I put this with out being insulting . . . Doesn't challenge me. Is that ok?

I'll take a listen to it, I never listen to it normally just cos the original and the flutlicht version are one of my fav tracks

Wouldn't worry about insulting me

I am actually just really curious. I feel that i am somewhat competent when it comes to music and I suppose production as well and it still impresses me. I suppose I understand the context in that it was made a really long time ago when you didn't have 90% of the stuff you have now.

how doesn't it challenge you ? As a producer or as a listener. I realise i won't ever win you over but I can at least attribute your lack of interest to taste and not regarding why i found them so great.

Lets just say, it is not what you would expect.

I was worried about insulting the general TA cast. Sometimes I will make a very opinionated based response/post. Due to the general response I've seen here in my short time, I feel it necessary to post a disclaimer.

Yes, toss it up to taste. Also keep in mind, while I do appreciate some trance tracks, I don't like the bulk of it.

Also, to answer your other question, as a listener. I am very critical.

respect,
N
