Your tips for job hunting
For about a month and a half now I have been job hunting, using people I know to find openings at their jobs, a few placement agencies, and the job websites (monster, careerbuilder). I know I can't simply walk into a job given I dont have a lot of experience (2+ yrs as a law clerk at various firms, and some years in food, retail, etc), but I feel like this process is a crapshoot.
They say to cast your net wide, but maybe mine is too wide. Having recently graduated law school and knowing that though I wouldn't mind working as a lawyer (should I pass the CA Bar) to pay off student loans, its not a job I want to do forever. Fields that interest me are teaching (highschool to community college), contracts and compliance. I also know I simply can't pick and choose the industry I desire to work in and there is a great chance I won't like my first couple of post-graduation jobs.
I am wondering what job searching tips the TA community found useful in their hunt for current and prospective jobs.
I dunno dude. I'm pretty much awesome and have always just gotten whatever job I walked into. Literally.

Good call, I don't think jenny's ever gotten a job that she's laid down for.
No, I had to bend over to get those.

To be fair though Jennie, you have never had to find a job in an economic time such as this in California. It is fucking shit. When you have 200 people applying for some shitty 4 positions at a grocery store, they don't just hire someone on the spot.
Uh, it's happening here as well.
Awesome people don't have to worry about such things.

You should, because you clearly know very little about the profession. You'll just make yourself look like an ass.
