Beat Pharmacy - Wikkid Times

What a great album this is. Best shit I've heard in a while. I can't go back to listening to any old boring dub techno anymore. This guy (Moeller) shows how's it's done right here. Dub Techno + Vocal track = match made in heaven. I honestly think dub techno is nothing now without vocals. You have to check this album out for yourselves if you haven't.

1, 6, and 9 are my favs. this album could've been something really great if he didn't use 6 black male vocalists with the same vocal styling (ragga ish) singing in almost the same key throughout the whole thing. most of the tracks they're not even singing, just talking. what about female singers? and the lyrics in every track have almost the same message drilled into my head over and over ok i get it 2012, doom, change is coming, i get it talk about something else already! sheesh.

god forgive dub techno for actually using dub style vocals.

that's the whole point lol

have you ever heard dub music?

check out all the releases on the rhythm and sound label as well.

vocal manipulation/remixing was invented with dub music, though it doesn't necessarily require it.

Pretty decent album, I enjoyed it.

Yes I know. I guess that's why it sounds so good. But there are plenty of people these days making dub techno which I already thought was boring (like Claro Intellecto, for example) and now I think they're even more boring. It just sounds empty.

I really should have gone to check him out last Wednesday.

Listen to Lulu Rouge for the female vocals + dub combination. They are actually very good, too. One of the guys behind it is DJ T.O.M who's collaborated with Trentemoller.

Haven't heard this Beat Pharmacy album yet, but I'm definitely planning to do it soon. Love both Tikiman & Spaceape.

i don't think you do lol

anyways i tend to prefer my dub and my dub techno with as few vocals as possible - it's just personal preference.

agreed. love maurizio, r&s, that scion project was aight, basic channel by themselves. i liked the real chaotic noisy beatless ones they did too.

would you listen to a trance album and then be surprised that they used the super saw?

well what you criticize as being redundant is like one of the greatest and most powerful themes and methods of dub music. it's like listening to vivaldi and saying 'enough of the fucking violins, i get the point'

i'm not saying whether i like it or not, as i've stated my personal preference already, but i try to understand what it's doing.

i was talking about the message of the lyrics in all the tracks, its the same thing in all of them. its more a collection of similiar sounding tracks than an album in the traditional sense anyway.
