Summer Sound System - International Roll-call Thread (are you going?)

rather than go thru all the local forum making threads about SS i htought i might as well put it here, as ive ehard a lot of international TA's talking about going, so i wondered just who you are!

who out of everyone in the world from TA is going to gatecrasher summer sound system, and would you be interested in meeting up with some of us UKTA's?

and it'd probably be best if people who arnt going dont post here incase the thread gets a bit confusing.

anyway, im going...

who else? oh yeh, any special reason why?

Sorry for posting, but I can't help it. I was actaully thinking of going to this event, but it's too late now to plan and shit. But next year I am pretty sure I am going

But here's a question for all of you who have been to all of the big parties like Homelands, Creamfields, Gatecrasher NEC, SSS, Dance Valley, Sensation, (You get the idea=) If you were going to fly from far far away to attend one of these events, which one would you choose? Is there even a "best one" or are they all equally good, but in different ways?

I am asking this because for a while now, I've been wanting to go on a vacation far away and go to a crazy party, I just can't make up my mind which one to go to, I have pretty much decided GCSSS for next year, I just want to see if any of you who have been to this event, and others think it's better to go to something else instead

Can any of you please help me out?

Well the BIGGEST in the world, as in ever, is the Berlin Love Parade. 1.5 million people. Over 50 trucks with trance and techno DJs. I have been saving for months for this one, I can't fucking wait!

One of the longest in the UK that I know of is Glastonbury, which is a huge rather unorganised event with 3 days and 3 nights of constant music in some farmers field in the middle of nowhere. It is however aimed at all music styles, but they nearly always have a dance tent of some sort. Because of it's unorganised nature, they have a tradition of keeping the lineups secret until the event. It's not so trance orientated though, a lot of rock music and so on is at the event too. I'd love to go one day, but this classic event (which prides itself as the daddy of festivals) may die this year, as last year tons of people just piled over their fences and got in free.

As for the best TRANCE one-night LINEUP in the world, that is going to be a debated point, but a lot of people would agree that Godskitchen Global Gathering probably has the best trance lineup you'll find, IMO it is better than Summer Sound System (but not by a very long way).

Global Gathering will have TA's from a lot of countries coming this year (check the thread in the UK forum), so it truly will be a global gathering. I can't wait for the meet-up!

I wouldn't sweat over it though, whether you go to Berlin Love Parade, Dance Valley, Summer Sound System or Global Gathering, you're going to have a great experience, let's face it. I wouldn't ask someone to tell you where is best to go, as I think it's a personal preference. For example, people from the UK travel to Dance Valley every year, but IMO Berlin Love Parade is more worth the money, but it depends what floats your boat. Some people might not be bothered about the length, or the afterparties, other people might not care whether it's 40,000 or a million, but you might.

Oh and sorry for taking part in the thread I might actually make SSS though, if I can get tickets, persuade my mate to go, and ensure I can afford it. SSS is the day after my birthday, I'm 50/50 about it right now.

as for which to choose... each event has something another event hasnt got.. for example, the GKGG line-up is very very good (theres not much between GG & SSS this year) but the atmosphere wont be as good.. its just summer sound system magic that GKGG will never have.. but it will be very good anyway heheh

As the lineup may be of less quality than the UK festivals...but YOU'LL BE IN HOLLAND!!!

Thanks tu_face, I'm all about the venue's too, not just the lineups. If Gatecrasher puts more effert in hooking up the venue and the event and stuff, then that matters alot too

Yes, I really want to go to Holland, all of my friends have been like twice and shit, and I haven't even gone once And I heard Dancevalley's venue is really great, but isn't it sold out like 6 months in advance every year or something? Maybe Sensation next year so I can go two parties (White and Black) See it's so hard to decide!!
