Mylo
So previous to last night I had heard the name Mylo and for whatever reason thought the he was some sort of commercial house producer that was big in Europe, and as a result I completely over looked him. I have heard his remix of No More Conversations, and Sia - Breathe Me, both of which are good, and heard of the Album Rock and Roll.
Anyways last night after seeing laidback luke, a few of us are sitting around at my place and my roommate puts on Destroy Rock and Roll and I was blown away. I had heard not one of these tracks. All of them are such amazing tracks to thick full of layers, and produced so well. I couldn't believe this album had been out for 5 years. I guess I'm wondering, does everyone else think this is a great album because I don't seem to ever remember any topics about Mylo or any of his tracks, or did I just somehow ignore him on the assumption that he was cheese?
yeah i always liked mylo- in my arms which sampled Bette Davis Eyes..havnt heard much from him recently..but a couple years ago his electro sound was pretty big.
Always loved Mylo ![]()
He hasn't made an original production since 2006
In My Arms wasn't all that special, Mylo's 'original' that is. But the Tocadisco Mix was superb.
But ye, he's made some hot tracks in his day.
that whole cd = bomb. always in my car at arms length to throw into the cd player.
I was a big fan of Mylo
What happened to him?

you were under a rock back then i guess. everyone played his tracks, even tiesto. what makes that album even more impressive is he did it completely on a hand me down imac in his bedroom and it was his first crack at making any kind of music whatsoever. freeform five and others did a little bit of post prod but essentially mylo did the whole thing.
btw, he played a sneak peak of his coming album on radio 1 jan 2009 recently, track called "I'm back".
i read somewhere last summer that he got some rare disease in his ears, causing him to be temporarily deaf for a while, so that's prob why no one has heard from him
otto's journey!

The ear infection rumor is true (not sure about the timeframe), he was supposed to play Los Angeles but had to cancel because of that..
I think that was in late 2006 early '07.
Made on a hand me down imac in his bedroom, on the isle of skye.

I am a big mylo fan. I always play his CD for people who claim they hate "techno". His new track didn't do much for me though.

That album was great. Lots of great tunes. Would definitely like to hear more from him.
Mylo released his debut album, Destroy Rock & Roll in 2004, on the Breastfed Recordings label, which he co-owns.
Mylo produced the album on a computer in his own bedroom
That's hot.

If anyone gets a chance to check out Aeroplane's Disco Balerica mix, the very first track is a new track from Mylo titled "Macrobiotica". I believe his album is coming out later this year? No idea.
But yes, the ear infection happened and rendered him virtually useless dj/studio wise for the better part of a year.

I loved Drop The Pressure and the mash-up with Miami Sound Machine. His album is decent but it was really hyped at the time, and I didn't think it was worth that hype.

As soon as it hit MTV.
edit: As soon as MTV started hitting it sounds better.

His album was namedropped in Spin Magazine. Dance music is NEVER namedropped in Spin Magazine. Well, seldom namedropped ever since they gave The Prodigy the cover back in 97.
