Teezdalien - Smooth Grooves Episodes (Deep/Prog House)

Hi Everyone. Just upped a new mix for anyone interested. This one was done with the pacemaker I got my hands on a couple of weeks ago, which has hardly been off since.
One hour of deep house and smooth grooves. Haven't really put any planning into this mix, just kinda went for it but it turned out ok apart from a few little slips here and there. I'm still trying to work out the best mixing techniques to use with the pacemaker as it's really hard to do a lot of switching and tricks, but still great for long mixes and blends and I've been having heaps of fun with it.
Anyway enjoy!

very nice mix. only one listen so far, but so far my only complaint is that it's too short

Posted by Teezdalien on Apr-27-2009 22:12:

Cheers for the bump Yo!
I'll definitely be making it longer next time too. I don't really have a big collection of deep house tunes, and I've only recently taken more interest in this genre as I've been playing more tech and prog house over the last year or so. I'm also still getting to know the deep house that I have a little better and working on what works well together. I only just put this mix together on the fly, just playing and mixing tracks at random, but like I said it kinda turned out not too bad. Another thing is that it's taking a bit of getting used to mixing on the pacemaker, only being able to control one parameter at a time is a bit limiting. Was playing on it at a friend's place last w/end and they really found it hard to take seriously.
I mean it looks like I'm playing on a gameboy! Still a fun toy though and I'm loving playing with it and being able to mix anywhere I go.

Hmm seemed to have missed this. Extremely interested in hearing a set that was mixed and recorded on a pacemaker.

edit: somebody please re-up this!

Fuckin Fuck FUCK! I've used my monthly quotaagain uploading this new mix!! )
Sorry Adam it'll take me a few days to re-up the first set, unless you still have it Stu?
Actually I'm going to make another disclaimer on this one after hearing it again. I originally had this set clocking in at just over 80 mins and it flowed really nicely however the Pacemaker editor software will only allow you to publish a set under an hour. I can still record sets longer than 60 mins but can't publish them directly from the software and it's a bit of rooting around.
I re-recorded the set and dropped a few tracks, so sorry guys it only runs 52 mins now and I feel that I've badly phrased the last few transitions. They're aren't trainwrecks by any means, just poorly phrased and sound worse than I first thought and a bit out of place. This I suppose is from trying to eliminate the empty bars of just beats that comes with dropping tunes too late. Like I said it flowed really nicely at first and now I wish I hadn't published the shorter mix, because it's not as good.
I dunno, I can post a link for this now, or if you will be patient enough to wait a few more days I'll re-up the longer, better mix.
Didn't mean to stir up any false hope either. sorry guys.

Fucking unacceptable.

Wait and post the longer one mate, 52 mins is too short!

I've still got the first one, I'll re-up it in a bit and post the link here.

Downloaded it and will take a listen today. I will edit my post when I have time for a proper listen! House usually ain't my stuff but getting out of your zone is nice one and a while!

Ooh, totally missed this the first time around... I'll definitely take a listen and give you some comments!

Posted by Teezdalien on Oct-01-2009 13:21:

Thanks a lot guys.

Had a listen and I think this was a very relaxing set. Very nice intro track, I love intro tracks that set the mood, not only bringing some beat from the first second.

Mixing was good, didn't disturb the flow anywhere for me. Deep house is a genre I am only a bit familiar but its very good for late nights, after parties when you are tired and you just want to listen to something gentle for the ears. Quality set, thanks for sharing!
