Scooter!

Hey guys,

Does anyone here listen to Scooter? hey are Techno/Trance/Electronic band that are very popular in Europe( at least were). What happened to them? Are they making more music?

Posted by RebeL9 on Apr-24-2009 18:01:

Maybe they got tired and quit? Releasing 24 albums with nothing but lame ripoffs can't be too fun in the long run.

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Apr-24-2009 18:03:

No, they're still around, unfortunately. Their last album reached #1 in the UK album charts, and that was only last year.

I think a few people on TA used to listen to their early-90s material, but I hope everybody is agreed that their new stuff is laughably cheesy pop guff.

Until their "Sheffield" album in 2000 they were pretty good

I was one of those who used to listen to them in the 90s. Still listen some of their mid-90s stuff (like Rhapsody In E) occasionally but i loathe most of what they have done in the 2000s.

Yep like me for example. Own their first two single compilations (dunno if there were othrs after). Used to really like them but I probably wouldn't stand them today.

Scooter pissed me off so much for taking a quality track like Marc Acardipane Presents MarshallMasters* Feat. Ultimate MC, The - I Like It Loud and turning it into a big pile of steaming shit.

Does anyone know how Scooter was capable of getting rights to remix this track and then call it

Scooter - Maria (I like it loud) ???

I'd be really interesting in finding out how he actually got a chance to even get his hands on such a quality track.

You are joking, right? The original is just as fucking stupid as Scooter's version.

Ugh, that tune was and always will be terrible, regardless of how many Thunderdome-ravers that went nuts to it over the years. It is a prime example of the paradox that is Marc Acardipane: for a while he'll make everyone in techno/hardcore look silly with The Mover or the stuff on Cold Rush, then he'll go on to make stupid rave nonsense like I Like It Loud or Drunken Piece Of Shit.

scooter stole vincent de moor's fly away riff did they not? & one of push's riffs too i think.

the emcee is annoying as fuck and half of the shit he randomly blurts out makes no fucking sense.

HOW MUCH IS THE FISH???

They're intentionally trying to get a rise out of people. And it's working.

Remember when Scooter was cool enough to be on a Hackers soundtrack?

1. The Prodigy - Firestarter (Empirion Mix)
2. The Orb - Toxygene
3. David Bowie - Little Wonder (Danny Saber Dance Mix)
4. Scooter - Fire
5. Empirion - Narcotic Influence 2
6. BT - Remember
7. Moby - Go
8. Leftfield - Inspection (Check One)
9. Underworld - Cherry Pie
10. Luce Drayton - To Be Loved (Disco Citizens R+D Edit)
11. Orbital - Speed Freak (Moby Remix)
12. Brooklyn Bounce - Get Ready To Bounce (Radio Attack
13. Chicane - Offshore (Disco Citizens Edit)
14. Leftfield - Original

Hackers 2

Rubbing shoulders with Leftfield, BT, and David Bowie, no less!

And Brooklyn Bounce!

I used to be a huge Scooter fan back in the 90's.
I don't listen their poppy tracks these days, but they really are one of the oldest groups by now, and still doing what they like. I respect them for that. People love them, people hate them and there are many in the middle of that.

Sometimes it's even funny what they come up with.
Also they are master of putting energy in tracks.
The german accent never really bothered me, but maybe that is because I live close to the german border.

These are my favourite oldies. Both are brilliant IMO:
