Solar Stone confession, anyone?

I know what the overwhelming response to this question will be, but I'll ask it anyway because I've been wondering.

Does anyone think Solar Coaster is better than Seven Cities, and why?

I'm pretty sure that the classic power of Seven Cities wins me over, but Solar Coaster comes dangerously close, in my mind.

I like solar coaster better than seven cities
but daz juss me
seven cities is still a great track tho

Posted by randummboy on Jun-17-2002 02:51:

hmm.. i'm going to have to say thier equal because i really hate comparing two great tunes.. they can both be the best, cant they?

(or would it be bests?)

It's a matter of timeline in music....

If American Pie was not written in 1950's, and was heard today...it'll least likely be a hit...

If Solar Coaster was released in 1999, I doubt it'll be that hot....and vice versa for Seven Cities...however, Seven Cities will still instill a notion of massiveness in the trance community today if it was released 2 weeks ago....

i like betta 7 cities....

Solarcoaster gets points for being so polished. I can't say the same for the original Atlantis mix.

BUT...the guitar is so powerful in Seven Cities, and there are so many brilliant mixes, i have to give it to Seven Cities, but I LOVE solarcoaster.

Seven Cities is way better than Solar Coaster IMO... it's a track that hasn't lost any of its power and is indeed an all-time classic.
I like Solar Coaster too, but I can't really understand all the fuzz people are making about it. But hey, that's just me!

I think if the vocals were dropped from Solar Coaster, then it would be the better song imo.

hmm, there both each songs in there own right. But seven cities is soo much more powerfull, so it gets my vote.

Both the same in my opinion, Bothe quality tracks by a quality producer

Seven Cities is better in my opinion.

Solarcoaster is a really good track, but it just doesn't hit me the same way as Seven Cities does.

Party Hat oink

solarcoaster is a solid

but.. has not withstood the test of time like 7Cities did

Pork!

I was told that Solar Coaster originally was produced back in 1996... dunno if it's true... but if it is, they did a great job to produce Seven Cities after it... omg that's a bomb!

And now Seven Cities get's a Armin treatment... this ch00n will definately be back on Ibiza!

Cool

i prefer solarcoaster

seven cities all the way...i need to give solarcoaster some time before i can say its a classic

Posted by dj Zevan on Jun-17-2002 15:16:

solar coaster is a pretty good song but it will never reach what seven cities has reached.
this all reminds me a bit of the southern sun threads, that song promised to be very huge and all, but it sucked for me
seven cities wasnt a classic in 2 or 3 weeks, it did grow to what it is now.
solar coaster is good because it is better than most songs that are released in this time.
the only thing you hear now are 2002 remixes of songs, and sometimes a good new song like solar coaster, and most of the songs that are released now are boring or have a to simple melody or are crap.
lets see what solar coaster is next year around this time. if then it is played as much as seven cities is played now and if by then it has his remix packages, than it can become a classic.

grtz

to me seven cities has always been just an avarage track, and you maybe thinking, "yeh coz u like hard trance" but i much much more prefer solar coaster, its nice, and matt hardwick is my fave dj so...

Posted by Arbiter on Jun-17-2002 16:30:

Yes, seven cities is a classic, and I doubt solar coaster will be, but I still like solar coaster just a little bit more. It just seems to have more energy to it.

Posted by DJ_Bod on Jun-17-2002 16:34:

solar coaster get ma vote!

Posted by BTG on Jun-17-2002 16:40:

I'd say Seven cities. I think the only reason why we're so excited about Solar coaster, like dj Zevan said, there hasn't been too many great songs this year. But Solar Coaster is still a brilliant track

Posted by mecha on Jun-17-2002 16:52:

I personally think that seven cities and solar coaster have some similaties between them.

I love both of this tracks and I think that solar coaster is just another step of seven cities.

Try to mix these two tracks together and you will see what I mean.

Posted by junis on Jun-17-2002 18:47:

I think Solar Coaster sucks compared to 7 cities!! I'm sure Solarcoaster doesn't have what it takes to become such a classic like 7 cities!

Greetings,

JUNIS
