Psychedelic Progressive...

Has anyone heard this stuff yet? Sort of an offshoot of Progressive Goa...but it's a wierd category. I don't even know if this name fits it.

Stuff like Antix, Brisker & Magitman, Duca, Hidra, FM Radio Gods, Metalogic, Pig & Dan, Boris Brejcha, D-Nox & Beckers, Umek, MOS, Talisman, Dousk, Jakiro, Ace Ventura, Ticon, Perfect Stranger...maybe even Extrawelt, Johannes Heil, Max Cooper could fit in there.

I'm not sure I can define it yet, but these are some of the artists who I think are producing it. I love it, because it's got the understanding of groove and pacing from some of these minimal/tech house producers, the melodies and space and massive-ness of progressive, and the production values and tweakiness of psytrance.

I'll try to find some good examples to post over the next week.

I assume this is the same genre as Prog Psy?

It's pretty cool actually. One of our TA DJs (Domesticated) did a prog psy set last month, and it's definitely worth checking out. Here's a link to the thread:

ticon and extrawelt produce similar stuff?

Your posting of artists in quite broad, alot of those guys don't even producer anything psychedelic like Pig & Dan or Umek or Dousk. Sure, they can be included on some labels (like tribal vision or iboga) because those labels also include artists who USED to produce psy trance but are now making prog house, tech house and minimal. It's really the same sound, for example Vibrasphere has been getting play from guys like Sasha now because there is nothing psychadelic in the sound, it's just like any other prog house or tech house artist out there.

I like Ace Ventura... and what style is Tetrameth producing? That guy is INSANE.. exactly the sound I like.

Check out this site. It's made my Darvin Knorr (DJ Nokturnal) who is one of the best Canadian Trance DJ's out there. Lots of different types of psy, tech, ambient... you name it. I suggest checking out the sets by Darvin himself and Sons of Aurora. Quality stuff. Hope this helps you out.

Vraiment solide le dernier mix.. Pas hard, trs mlodique et acide. Totalement le contraire de ce que j'ai entendu hier au electronic brain 03.
