Because these shows cost nothing to make - they are incredibly low risk to studios. They have to pay the "stars" virtually nothing, the locations are all cheap, and often sponsors pay the bills so basically it's just a camera crew you're paying for.

If it turns out to be a freak hit, you've just made money from nothing.

I openly admit I love Rock of Love and so do many other people obviously since it's the most watched show on VH1, ever. BUT I can't stand the stripper bimbo Daisy with the whiny voice. She doesn't deserve her own show
